Been awhile since I've been in Boca, some questions I have

Haven't been to Boca Chica since 2006. Had about 10-11 trips specifically there and not including times I hit up Santiago and Santo Domingo. I know the Austria and Madhouse are closed down. I know Zanzi bar is no more. Cosmos is renamed I believe. I remember Duarte street used to have La Cueva which was a dive, austria and mad house bars, zanzi bar and cosmos disco. Might have messed up the order. I know La Playa Vista is not run by Peter or Fleming and may even have a different name. Is Isla Playa Bonita Bar still there? What happened to Peter or Fleming which means are they still in BC? Is Didi and the other guy, forgot his name still in BC? Is the old guy from Boston might have been Ronnie? still alive and used to hang at La Playa Vista all the time? Is crazy Dolores still around? Anyone ever stay at Castello Italiano hotel? I am thinking either that or the Mango. I have stayed at Costa Lunga, Europa, Madjera and Los Pinos before. I prefer to be away from the noise and liked the Europa even when it was noisy when Bertrand was there but I understand that may be closed down as well. I am a budget mongerer and back in the day, st averaged about 20 dollars, tln averaged about 35 because I'm a haggler. What is the Piano Bar and El Batey? If they have other names what were they previously and I will know their location. From what I am reading looks like prices have went up. I am going back end of feb/early March and if anyone wants to discuss stuff over a beer, be a wingman if you don't speak spanish and want to hit SD for a day or two, I speak pretty good spanish and am only for point and click action since the capital and santiago takes some time with non pros and I'm just here to enjoy the beach and have fun with the chicas. May go for a couple day trips to Santo Domingo, hell maybe even try out Sosua for a couple days only been there once to monger. I take gua gua to SD and could split cab fare travelling around SD or take the metro/caribe bus to Sosua. One more question, what works the best with least amount of side effects: mambo 36, elevex or la pela, I realize the last two are generic forms of Cialis. I don't have problems most of the times but I used to take normal V back in the day for backup. I know a lot of questions but I'm out of date on BC. Side note, mid 30's, dominican wife for several years and we have kids and not as adventuresome as I used to be. Damn, I used to take big risks hitting bars in Santo Domingo solo where I was the only gringo, little drunk and walking late at night bar hopping, etc.

Prices are about the same. El Caucho was $25/night on a weekly basis. Chica's are available for the prices you mentioned. Isla Bonita is there, but is always dead and the girls just so-so.

Duarte St still gets closed off in the evenings and can be great. You can always get a decent Italian dinner reasonable and check-out the puta parade.

Playa Vista,(it might not be called that) serves a big breakfast by the water for $5.00 and is good to stop by in the afternoon after a beach walk.

Thanks for some of the info I was looking for. It seems like every couple years all the businesses are renamed and with new owners, etc. I was checking in about BC and was seeing new names and didn't recognize many of the business names. If I knew what they used to be called, I would know were they were but BC is small so I'll be able to find out everything within a day or two. I'll be there Feb 27-March 5 not sure if I'll spend the whole time there since on previous trips, 3-4 days and I was getting tired of the action and the touts/vendors but it's been so long I don't know if I'll burn out as fast. You can be half asleep in your sunchair and those mothef.rs will come up to you and wake you up to try to sell you some burned CD or some other crap. What are the best daytime beach bars that the women frequent most often? I know that they walk around as well. That Hotel Mango website looked interesting so I was curious about that place but was looking at the other hotel mentioned earlier and seemed interesting as well and dirt cheap. I'll definitely look up Fleming though I liked Peter better and check to see if I can see Ronnie at the Boathouse. Thanks for all the updated info so far.

Fleming owns the Playavista property, so you should be able to find him there.

He has it for sale for some ungodly amount of money, and wants something like 3500 dollars a month to rent the bar (ONLY) "because it's worth it" even though he doesn't sell that much beer in 5 years.

It used to be my favorite hangout until Peter left. He was the one that made it bearable.

Ronnie is usually in Boathouse in the afternoons.

I get the feeling I know you. Back in those days I had a Red Jeep Wrangler, with a nice model type wife. Ring a bell?
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..

I can't remember a lot of details about vehicles and doesn't stick out in my mind, but if you were in BC a lot between 2002-2006 I probably have met you or seen you. I've met so many people that the names escape me and do remember people like Jim H and another Rick from Canada/Toronto that usually stayed at Costa Lunga, not Rocky's Rick and faces that I have in my mind but can't put a name to them. I was a real young buck then, mid/late 20's.
