06/2013 - La Romana, Bayahibe and San Pedro de Macoris, February 2013

Flew Jetblue New York, JFK to La Romana (LRM), Dom Rep, total roundtrip price was around $213US which included all taxes and fees (jetblue had a fare sale). Jetblue at that time flew into La Romana from New York on Wednesday and Saturday. Flight time from New York was about 3 hours and 10 minutes. Quiet airport, La Romana (LRM). Rented a car with Alamo-National, they send a worker to pick you up and take you to casa de campo to get the car, about 10 minutes away. Got the car and drove to Jumbo in La Romana. Got a sim card and DR phone number, cost was about 160 pesos at the Claro shop inside Jumbo. Had a Burger King meal inside Jumbo, bought Cialis at a Farmax pharmacy inside that Jumbo and bought soda, water and chips for the hotel room. Also changed money at the Western Union inside that Jumbo. Jumbo is like a big department store (groceries, clothes and stuff for the home; televisions, refrigerators etc).

Stayed at the La Vecchia Caserma hotel in La Romana, http://www.hotelvecchiacaserma.com/index.php?lang=en. $60US per night for two people, breakfast and wifi included. Nice room, good air conditoning, nice pool. Italian owned, about 5 minutes east of the la romana airport (exit off the new Coral highway is boca de chavon). The hotel is adjacent to La Estancia golf resort, http://www.laestancia.do/. La Vecchia Caserma used to be a Dominican Republic military building with stables for horses (riding track for horses and the stables are visible).

Ten minutes away is the town of Bayahibe which has a public beach adjacent to a Viva all inclusive hotel. Dominicus is a part of bayahibe. Many boats in bayahibe that take tourists to isla saona. An island with no hotels, scenic with clear water and a pretty beach.

    Altos de Chavon is a remake of a old european village made by a set designer for a US film company many years ago. Parts of Rambo and Apocalypse Now were filmed on the Chavon river. Parsons school of design gives classes there. Sting performing at Altos de Chavon;

Klimax, now called Scores had some of the finest putas I have seen in a p4p venue, when I visited years ago. Owner supposedly was from New York and may have retired and sold the place. Good size pool, indoor and outdoor bars, supposedly a sports book to bet on sports, rooms on site. Prices were not cheap. Just off the main road in La Romana. Advertisement for Klimax from a few years ago (sign now says Scores); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nCdadTagQw. La Materialista performed at Klimax a few years ago; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbpwMD7jvpQ. "Love Chemistry" Quimica de Amor; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIo1fZ2j8L4. I read somewhere that maybe Michael Jordan recently had part of his bachelor party in la romana in casa de campo.

Years ago I visited a regular bar in la romana called Urban, big ass bartenders who will dance with and grind customers. Marinellys Cafe and Restaurant was a nice normal place in La Romana.

New Coral highway cuts the travel time to probably under an hour to get to bavaro/punta can from la romana. Modern 4 lane highway, just opened a little over a year ago.

An amiga from san pedro de macoris stayed with me in la romana and I drove her to work in the morning. Attractive women in San Pedro de Macoris, some tall with sport bodies. Malecon is busy there on the weekends.

About 4 all inclusive hotels in bayahibe and condo rentals and a pure disco and casino. Usually some p4p there. Lots of italians in Bayahibe, adjacent to a National Park so it is not built up and is very quiet and tranquil. Catalonia Gran Dominicus all inclusive is my favorite, with offseason rates of $120 or less for two people, all you can eat and drink in a nice hotel with excellent service, nice beach and pool. Many europeans there; http://www.hoteles-catalonia.com/en/...icus/index.jsp

    A few more pics.

Ravioli at the Vecchia Caserma hotel and soup and spaghetti brought to the room. An attractive and friendly Dominicana at the vecchia caserma hotel speaks excellent English as well as Italian.

Motoconcho in San Pedro de Macoris with a cute passenger in a white miniskirt.

Highway between San Pedro de Macoris and Boca Chica is 4 lanes and very tranquil, pleasure to drive on that section of highway.

Photos of the new waterpark were taken May 2013 (I visit San Pedro de Macoris every trip). New Waterpark is between Juan Dolio and Boca Chica.

    Scores (Klimax)

Supposedly sometimes has 75 women. I visited 2-3 times a few years ago and saw some fine talent there, at least one woman from Santiago. We were mauled when we walked, tits flashing, grabbing, touching, has a good size pool, inside and outside bar, rooms. Not sure how it is now. Just off the main road when entering La Romana, not too far from the main traffic light.

Urban Bar, Tony Bar, Marrinelly Bar-Restaurant

Marinelly Bar is nice, upscale type of small bar/restaurant located just up the road from Jumbo.

Urban bar was packed the night I visited a few years ago. About twenty mostly LARGE ass bartenders, who stand on plastic beer crates (so their asses can be seen above the bar). 75 pesos for large bottles of Presidente Beer served with small plastic cups. I gave the bartender the 25 pesos change from a 100 peso bill a few times and she left the bar area and came over to me and danced and grinded. Some options inside there that night. Tony is a smaller bar across the street (Scarface theme). Seems La Romana may have a few bars where the waitresses will dance with customers. Photos from a few years ago. A new place opened, that is popular (normal type bar) I forget the name. Profesionales was a fun normal, small bar in La Romana. Good street signs in La Romana.

Re: La Romana, Bayahibe and San Pedro de Macoris, February 2013

Le Pusse Car Wash bar is near the main traffic light (driving east it will be to your right before the traffic light). Might have options there (I did not visit). Deseo looks like it could be a car wash type of place, seemed to be closed in the daytime, (I did not visit at night).

I sometimes ask motoconcho guys to show me places. Sometimes they have amigas who may want to hang out.

I saw one sign for a cabana on the main road when entering La Romana.

New Coral Highway is nice, that starts and ends near La Romana. The section that will bypass some of the local roads in La Romana was being worked on when I was there. The new highway makes driving even easier there. The side road to Bayahibe goes through a forest, no traffic, country road, easy to drive on.

    Very nice photos, thanks.

I call the area Bayahibe. You taught me correctly before the part further east is Dominicus. 5 minutes from each other (I am lazy and just refer to both as Bayahibe, lol).

Video flyover of the Dominican Republic, available to view in High Def (1080p).

Merengue from the Trujillo era (I believe Morel). The Candido Bido Museum in Bonao is in the video (http://nobultodom.wordpress.com/2011...-candido-bido/)

I really like the area a lot, its not a mongering spot but there are opportunities to be had. I find Bayahibe\Dominicus to be very quiet little towns but if you're looking for a good getaway with your chica and little to no crowds then this is definitely the place to be. Dominicus as Jao said is about 5 minutes down the road from Bayahibe and I think its a little larger with more shops and eateries and massage places giving more opportunities for p4p. The only thing with this area is that most of the girls that work here are from LaRomana and the last bus back to LaRomana is around 6:30pm so if you're going to grab a girl you have to do it before they get on the bus, after that the towns pretty much dry up and shut down.

How was the Pure disco? I visited only one time, on the weekend of the Dominican Presidential election, it was very quiet. Tourist babes might visit pure disco at night. I drove into La Romana a few nights when I stayed in Bayahibe, an even easier drive to la romana now with the new highway. Normal bars and p4p places in la romana. With the new highway about a 20 minute drive.

Wilo D' New "Menea Tu Chapa". Some of the fat ass chicas remind me of the size asses at Urban Bar in La Romana, years ago.

Pure Disco is right inside of the local casino over in Dominicus and most nights I was there it was pretty quiet except Wednesday or Thursday, I forget which, but I think it was ladies night so there were quite a few Dominican ladies hanging out, nothing like Classicos or D'Latins but more than usual, all of the other nights just a few tourist groups. When ever I go I always rent a car so I spend time bumming around LaRomana at night, just the local strip clubs though.

Bayahibe is not a poor town. Lots of money gets pumped into that town, from the tourists who take boats from there to go to Isla Saona. Beautiful beach in Bayahibe, turquoise water, nice sand, I love the beach there. If you travel with a wingman or family member or GF or amiga and pay $60 per person per night offseason at the catalonia gran dominicus all inclusive hotel (sometimes cheaper rates), all you can eat and drink, nice pool, nice rooms, good service, nice beach, adjacent to a national park so it will never get too built up, is good value.

With the new coral highway, punta cana/bavaro is probably less than 45 minutes away (there are some beautiful putas in punta cana/bavaro). Boca de Yuma a small fisherman village with a beach that is accessible by boat with large cattle ranches you see before you get to boca de yuma, is about 15-20 minutes from bayahibe. Higuey an hour or less. Higuey is a nice town, fun at night, normal bars and at least one casa de cita.

San Pedro de Macoris about 45 minutes from Bayahibe. Juan Dolio about an hour, boca chica about an hour and 10 minutes or so, Santo Domingo 90 minutes to 2 hours.

Parsons school of design has continuing education classes (art, photography, design etc.) at Altos de Chavon (maybe 20 minutes from bayahibe), probably has exhibits there as well: http://www.altosdechavon.com/

    Boca de Yuma

About 20 minutes from Bayahibe. Cattle ranches on both sides of the road towards Boca de Yuma. Seafood can be purchased in Boca de Yuma.

Beach in Boca de Yuma that is accessible by boat.

    First night in Higuey

Visited a few churches hoping to take care of some Pecados. Left the luggage in the rental, changed my shirt in the street, from a t-shirt to a button down short sleeve shirt. Visited various normal bars and one open air casa de cita bar. Karaoke in the bar attached to the hotel don carlos hotel (about 4 blocks from the cathedral). Checked into the Hotel Don Carlos maybe around 1am or 2am. Room rate was about $50US per night. Years ago.
