Nowadays, I would prefer to preserve what hearing acuity I still have, and DOOGIE-DOOGIE-DOOGIE or any-fuckin'-thing else, played at "Volume 11," is utterly unacceptable to my tastes. I already have some hearing loss from when I worked around laugh equipment. But it is also in my genes. I like music and can stand almost any kind as long as it is not blasting so loud you can't make out the words. hahaha

So, it's been more than 30 d (length of suspension) since the initial shut-down.
    Is it back-up running?

I sure hope so. Cuz I need a place to hang next week.

    Too bad.

But I will never give up on the DR.

Might be too late! By that time it is probably shut down again.
No kidding. Once they have their eyes on it...

Let's first hear if it really opened up again tonight for more than four hours.

Just being realistic how things tend to play out.

Re: 10/2013 - Ad opens Rancho Tipico

Well it re-opened yesterday as planned.

Having been open all day, at 7pm Policia Nacional decided to stop by and ask why.

Ad was not in possession of the approval to re-open order signed by the judge so Policia Nacional closed it down.

how is it even possible? I mean, he knows they would check on him and he does not take all the steps to make sure he is ok?

I can almost certainly guarantee you that Ad was told: "Go ahead. Thirty days are over. You can open up again."

It is a ploy, of course. And had he had the judge's permission in writing, something else would have been found out-of-order.
W/ the same outcome: instant shut-down.

    I know my Dominicans.

Re: 10/2013 - Ad opens Rancho Tipico

Imagine. Two of the PN thugs randomly "stopping by" at Rancho Tipico on a moto and checking permits.

Whoever believes in that scenario also believes in Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny.
Aside from that, the PN cannot just order a close-down at random. Not even in the DR.

P.S.: PN are thugs all around. They are as bad as the criminals. Except they are wearing uniforms.
You can buy their services, and I have. But other than the name, it has nothing to do w/ police.
No Dominican would ever call PN. Only makes matters worse.

Looks like they are back. At least for now.
I know some don't like the place but I for one am happy there are options other than what's available on the strip.

    9 December 2015

    Rancho Tipico reopened in style

Monday was the day, Bar Rancho Tipico re-opened! After some problems with the local authorities, Ad the operator of the establishment seized the opportunity to restyle the bar-restaurant completely. The bar is somewhat better protected against noise nuisance for neighbors. Everything is put in a new coat of paint and there is some new furniture. The control of the safety of the guests has improved. What has remained are the special offers of the restaurant and happy hour for drinks. Every Saturday night, for example, Mexican evening with special Mexican dishes like tacos and burritos.

    Opening Rancho Tipico

    Opening Rancho Tipico

On Sunday, it is now BBQ evening. There are also special offers on different days as steak, spareribs, roasted half chicken with chips and salad for a very special (low) price. The breakfast for 99 pesos is also back again. Ad also wants to contract some good bachata and merengue bands in the coming weeks. It has to be said, Rancho Tipico has much to offer: good music to dance to and even better with the music videos, affordable prices, excellent BBQ and Mexican specialties, performances by artists, free Wi-Fi, special offers as super cheap breakfast. Bar / restaurant Rancho Tipico is still an asset to Sosúa.

    Second hand info.

But I have been told from a reliable source that "they" cleaned him out pretty good. Between paying for lawyers, bribes, and other associated costs there is no personal wealth left.

The good news is that "they" might not be shaking that money tree any time again soon, because it would topple. Instead give it some time to regenerate leafs and branches. Then harvest some more.

P.S.: Also, as far as minors on premises goes. Supposedly Ad's defense was that minors entered the premises as a safe haven when Politur/PN showed up outside. Which is a very reasonable explanation that I could buy.

Not if he employed them. First hand knowledge.
