Is Chaka going to be included in the curfew or exempt like Playa Chiquita?
Is Chaka going to be included in the curfew or exempt like Playa Chiquita?
Yep.
I juts came back from my night there and the music reflected excatly The usual Rancho Tipico ( or City Lights for that matter).
I danced some bachata, some kompa and had a lot of fun.
As far as the croud I would say that there is about 50 % of European and 50% of north american and the hatians and dominicans. The waitresses were about 60% haitians and 40% dominicans...
in total at Peak time there were about 100 people..
Seville, WickedWillie, Irie and Jose were with me. Prices are pretty much the same I think even if I did not really check every single item. When I left I stopped by City Lights and it was completely empty and I had been told it has been like that the whole night.
follow my Negril trip report at http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/showthread.php?429348-07-2014-I-am-back-in-the-saddle-again-El-Cristo-Negril-trip-report
Sometimes we fuck up...and life is so much better that way...
Well for what it's worth, City lights got 6 months of customers & business. Appears to be coming to an end.
I am the pussy licker Let's have some fun. Not invisible. Snitches are pathetic little people!

Here we go again. Ad opens Rancho Tipico will not only be the most popular thread but the only news that is happening in Sosua.
Like him or hate him Ad does manage to provide a place that alot of people enjoy going to
certainly not the kinda place everyone gravitates to and thats cool
i have spent many nights in sosua and can count on one hand how many of them included classicos
not my type of place and could care less if it existed. I dont go to the dr for hip hop but some do. Good thing there is some variety
no doubt ad focuses on a certain type of customer
i am one who has always enjoyed his venues
dont agree with everything he does but i have always been able to coexist with him and appreciate what he attempts to do
not many would get knocked down as much as he has and keep getting back up
not sure how long this will last again as i dont think he has the best partners again that will allow it to succeed
not to smart imo as i think ad ultimately is a big part of the formula for success
often that means not everyone can be fully satisfied with the experience
I think the issue now is he cant open anything without the help of financial backing for various reasons
they seem to have to much control and simply eliminate him whenever there is conflict that cant be easily resolved
i am coming to the conclusion these partners may have money but have little knowledge of the bar business
so if ad is not allowed to remain they likely wont last long
will see if they realize that they probably need ad in order for it to work
even how he is people do follow him
plus he will employ the haitains when most of the other places wont
Apparently ad pushed the issue last night trying to stay open till 5
the police came by and i guess made it clear that it if happens again he will be shut down for good
sounds like the right people were not informed again
ad better get his act together fast. One would think he would be smarter about all that
I totally get it, but we can also talk about something else and not only Sosua.
Besides that, there are not many topics regarding a place like Sosua.. Not much is happening there besides few bars with some whores...
I have other things I am doing when I am down there but I keep it to myself for personal reasons...
Yes you do .. you understand perfectly...
sadly i dont think AD can be fixed ..
unless someone gets him into like an AA type program, not bloody likely.... that would be like getting a Restaurant Chef on Jenny Craig.
He drinks and he gets angry at whoever is in the line of Fire ... that's the pattern.
when he is not drunk, He was/ is a nice guy...
If he spouts his mouth off at people with the power to shut him down, what do you think will happen next ?
Enjoy it while you can
Learning all of this second hand as i am not there currently so those that are there can confirm or deny but apparently both city lights and rancho/chaka were closed Saturday night
high c was having an event and they wanted customers for it
city lights was supposedly closed by immigration?
rancho/chaka was ordered closed by an investor
this all sounds like a complicated mess to me
not sure whats true or not but apparently the investor kept chaka closed sunday night as well
not sure about whats up with city lights
i guess we can wonder and theorize until boots with good info know more
Chaka closed early Saturday night and did not open Sunday night. Not sure about the others.
Not sure what this investors angle is
if allowed to remain open i have to believe chaka stands a very good chance of being profitable and a success
the Dominican business sense there at times is mind boggling
a big reason i will likely never invest in that country
You would have to have your head examined if you are even thinking of opening or buying a Bar in Pedro C..
or anywhere in Sosua for that matter.
Or even a LEGIT HOTEL for that matter ..
Sosua has possibly one of the most HOSTILE Business Environments anywhere , for Foreign investors .
The Powers that be are just straight up Criminals ,right up the line all the way .
Everyone is struggling , mostly their own people who just want a JOB, and they continue to play games with business Owners..
Not sure how any of this is related to Ad and his re opening .
but just as a general observation.. Sosua ? Bar ? I would sooner buy a BRIDGE.
Now I see why a smart guy like Bobby of Rumba refuses to ever return to Sosua .. ( that is the word is on the street, could be rumor so dont quote me)
but even if thy Mayor herself invited him back and rolled out the red Carpet he would not re open that bar ..
and he did a LOT for the community.
Its pretty disgusting ..
sorry for rant
