Chaka was open last night from 7PM to 1AM. Ad says he is hoping to have food available starting Friday and is expecting to be able to remain open until 5AM starting in about 3 days.

I don't understand why he has such a fixation on staying open all night. is Sosua that full of late night drinkers and party goers? I bet a lot of his problems will stem from that. Once Pedro Clisante closes down, where else are the police going to look.
Of course, I know nothing about the bar business.

i would tend to agree with that as well
even the girls get tired of dancing and i got to believe the sales aren't all that great that late either
plus its not really geared towards the after hours crowd anyway
but as people get more inebriated it does make it easier for them to pad the bills lol

To my knowledge (which can be limited)...
The only way to be open past the set time constraints set forth by the local govt. is to be attached to a casino.
But there is also one other example in El Batey, Sosua, late night spot, Copa Cabana, but this is off the beaten path, so who really knows.

Seems they did not have permission to open the place yet so the politur came in and shut them down.
Sounds like it might not be a permanent thing though.
The stupidity of how some people operate in this country never ceases to amaze me.
Have a feeling this will be a constant thing until they shut him down for good.

you also have to suspect that maybe the appropriate fees for licensing and paperwork have not been paid to all the interested parties.....

Somehow i suspect there is someone else in play with a agenda to destroy him for some reason.

After having so many issues in the past and been the target and still he did not fully understand that his only chance to stay open would be to have all the papers in order and also paid all the bribes necessary.
At this point I am giving up and I will not even try to defend him anymore...

I talked to Ad late last week. Ad believed he had all the paperwork done correctly and knew it had to be done correctly. His lawyer, who also owns the real estate, confirmed that the paperwork is done correctly to AD. Maybe this is a case of AD being black listed in the Sosua area or ? Obviously he is missing something as they found some reason to close him down. However, I highly doubt its the cause of AD just pushing to open too soon. There are many other similar businesses, a sort of church across the street, a biker club almost across the street, and other interests nearby that may not welcome his re-opening. My guess is that he is being specifically targeted and re-opening rancho, even with another name (Chaka) is a middle finger in the face of the people that closed him the first time.
