gonna be staying at Hotel Shakey, should be a blast

If you want to swim, you could walk over to the Hotel Napolitano and use their pool for around 500 pesos. Not sure if the Crowne Plaza, Sheraton and Jaragua offer passes to use their pools.

Thanks to Mr. Happy, I learned about the day pass at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel, good gym and pool there, for around 700-800 pesos.
