I'll find out next week. There was a facebook page with the photos.

The place on Avenida Maximo Gomez about three blocks down from the Hotel Barcelo Santo Domingo is called Prestige. On Ave. Maximo Gomez near there is a cancer institute, two universities, national theater (plaza cultura with museum of natural history, modern art museum, museum of the Dominican man, a few bars/restaurants), courtyard by marriott hotel, U.S. Consulate type building, Drug Police building, McDonalds, SuperMercado Nacional, pharmacy next door to the McDonalds and the SuperMercado Nacional (maybe a Carol pharmacy), U.S. Embassy about 4 blocks away, Haitian Embassy near Avenida Maximo Gomez. Police always on Ave. Maximo Gomez there and AMET (motor vehicle police). I have always seen police stationed outside the larger and some medium sized hotels in Santo Domingo. Pretty University students in that area.

Hotel San Marco, just off Maximo Gomez, with a pool; http://www.booking.com/hotel/do/san-marco.html

    Prestige Club; http://uepa.com/article.aspx?id=26996

    Photos from the internet.

Jao, don't get me wrong, most of the BM would appreciate some basic information about club areas and respected barrios not only for the safety of the area, but if this or that bar fits into each traveler and vice versa if a traveler fits into it. Nothing can be more disappointing to get to a club only to find yourself out of bounds, either among the elite or in 'cidade de deus' type of place.
I imagine most guys will use taxis to visit p4p venues or bars/clubs, that are not within walking distance of where they are staying. I have not seen any reports of any guys being harassed while in taxis in santo domingo. The busier and larger bars/clubs have security, usually large bouncer guys. I have not seen any fights or other nonsense in the bars/clubs I have visited in Santo Domingo.

Rama (old name tronco) I visited around 8-9PM, nice older guys running the place (I was there before it got going that night), street had some homes. Caribbean House Massage on Ave. Pedro Livio Cedeno, was on a tree lined street with homes (small car dealer next door to Caribbean House Massage). This massage place has an outdoor quiet courtyard. Caribbean House might be also be referred to as 55 (the number of the building, club 305 in gazcue is located at 305 Avenida Independencia). Marginal is like a service road or smaller road that runs along side of a larger road or highway. Ejecutiva casa is on the marginal (service road of Las Americas highway).

There is a bar called Tronco, with outdoor seating and some cute waitresses, on Avenida Espana, close to the National Aquarium and the water park. Andy Bar (formerly La Base) also on Avenida Espana, about 5 minutes away. I'll drive by next week to see if it is open, sometimes some amazon like sexy waitresses there, lol. https://foursquare.com/v/andy-sport-...3e46674/photos
