04/2015 - Noob poster, long time lurker

Hey everyone. I thought it would be an opportune time to introduce myself (plus ISOC made me). I'm planning a 3rd trip to Sosua this at the end of April. I'm going solo so I'm open to people joining me.

I've had a great time in Sosua the past two times. Even though it seems to be on the decline with the local politics there as contentious as the states, I love the people there. I've been hustled, I've had rocks thrown at my by a chica loca but still I like the charm of the place. I can't wait to check out Amazonas, Passions replacement.

    First trip:
I helped organize a bachelor trip for my friend and heard Sosua was the place to be...and it was...4 years ago It blew my mind how much fun we had. We ended up getting a 8 bedroom mansion. With this Scarface like house, naturally 8 viral guys would like it to be filled up with women. We hired a full-time driver for the whole trip and we innocently asked him if he can get girls here. 'No problem' he said with absolutely confidence. about an hour later. A van filled with women came and we were like kids in a candy store. The driver said he would be back in a second and we thought he was going to run some errands but he came back with more girls! I am a loyal customer of his services now now.

It was complete hedonism for the next 4 days where I and a lot of my other friends had to take breaks. I would have never thought in my life I would be tired of sex.
The last day topped it off for us. We decided to get a roasted pig and then having sex like animals afterwards. Pork, beautiful women, luxury mansion and awesome people...can't really ask for more in an awesome vacation.

    Second trip:
My friends and I went to a wedding in Puerto Rico and decided to compliment holy matrimony with unholy debauchery. I researched places on Airbnb as we think we can shell out more for a good spot then budget places. We rented a place but the renter had notified us that guests were no longer allowed in the condo complex due to some religious revival in Sosua politics. He was definitely a pro and knew what 3 single guys were going to do in Sosua. After an extensive search for a replacement, we ended up with 'Villa Pasions'. Yep, that passions. The owner was deported and his fuck pad was up for rent. And what a fuck pad it was. Since Passions was in renovation mode, the caretaker had contacts of girls and had them driven to the place.
The caretaker had one rule...'No chicas calle'. We naturally thought he was taking a cut of the girls and ignored it. We walked along the streets and picked up a couple of girls and took them back to our place. As I was about to do the deed, I forgot I had no cash left to cover and the banks were all closed. I politely asked the girl to leave and she insisted to be paid more than the 500 pesos I gave her for her troubles. One thing lead to another and I was getting cursed at and being call many names, some of them pretty brutal. She did speak really good english and I have to say I wasn't really mad but impressed. Anyways, we lead her to the door with her still screaming. We closed the door and thought that was the end of it...until the rocks start flying over the gated house. The caretaker yelled at her. This is why I'm a fan of Passions. Yes, you do pay a more but its to ensure you don't get rocks thrown at you.

In addition to the 'no chicas calle' rule, we also learned not to play dominican roulette and do not bring chicas on a boat. Let me know if you want to hear about those experiences.

Apologies for the long wait. I got really busy with work and life. But here is the Dominican Roulette story:

    Dominican Roulette:
Sosua Bay Resort Casino is a pretty standard no frills casino similar to some Indian reservation casinos. However, sometimes there is a vacant table near the entrance. This is not a table but rather a setup for stupid and rich tourists. On this day, that stupid and rich tourist was my friend.

There were mostly natives that night which could be part of the reason why we (asian, white, and black) were targets upon entrance. My friend brought $1000 knowing it would be ok to lose it and he never hid the fact that he was a functioning gambling addict....and apparently this beautiful and eloquent dominican lady picked up on this. She greeted us all but immediately started eye-fucking the gambler and talked him into playing a game where he would start with $200 credit. How could anyone say no to pussy and free money?

We were escorted to the table and the game was setup upon approach and given free drinks and warm salutations from door lady and the game host. We were then given a explanation of the rules. The host will spin a wheel then pour a cup full of balls on to the wheel where they will hit numbers. These numbers will be added up and sum will determine the prize or be marked for prizes later upon completion of a series of selected numbers. Essentially, it was a weird concoction of dudo, roulette, and bingo. Sprinkle this game with some flirtatious smiles from the door girl, free booze and set the oven on to 'hustle'. You have the recipe for Dominican Roulette, or as we and probably a lot of Sosua tourists refer to as humble pie.

The hustle was initially set on low but increased through out the process. We hit a lot of prizes at first. Not all the time but enough to make us think that this was fun. We did notice that the guy that was throwing the balls on to the wheel was stopping the rickety old wooden wheel with his hand. It was disturbing but we were winning so fuck it whatever...we were up to $500 and 'that chick at the table definitely wants to bang me'.

The game was setup where the minimum bets were increased geometrically the more we played but hitting the right combination of numbers resulted in a massive payday. We had hit a good amount of them off the bat. First, we lost the $200 credit. 'Fuck it, we were going to lose some money anyways lets keep playing and go for the jackpot. Plus this chick definitely wants to bang me.'

$500 in the hole. 'What the fuck happened to this game? Why the fuck has this guy stopping this wheel? But he's been stopping the wheel the whole game. Maybe he's making the numbers up, lets check this asshole's math. After, I get that jackpot. I'm going to make it rain on this table chick.'

$1000 in the hole. 'I'm going to be fucking sick. How in the fuck had we been doing great before and now we aren't hitting shit. That girl is not smiling anymore, in fact I see the uneasiness in the host as well.'

$2000 in the hole. 'No Mas! No Mas!'

We got fucked and the time came to pay the tab. We had no intentions on bailing but the host brought a huge bodyguard that looked like we would definitely be his bitch in prison. They escorted my friend to our house in a 10 year old camry to get more cash as he was not expecting to lose $2000.

They were calm, cool but swift in this whole process. After my friend came back. They disappeared along with our money and the table.

They made this as swift as possible because they knew the natural process of reflection after a detrimental event. We slowly realized the con over a few jack and cokes.

The girl, free booze and money were standard distractions and almost fail proof pick up lines for the male gambler. Nothing that would make a person give up $2000.
The game was shady but they followed all the rules the had stated at the beginning. The numbers all added up as well.

The eureka moment came when the gambler mentioned 'you know, it was really tough to see what the numbers added up to in the beginning'. We looked at the jackpot numbers and they were indeed too improbable to hit that frequently at first. 'Holy shit, he was making up the numbers at the beginning'. Nevermind the girl and the money, the small but keystone ingredient in this hustle was him stopping the wheel with his hand. It distracted us so much that we forgot to add up the numbers.

If you see an empty table at the Sosua Bay Casino, watch out. If you don't, someone already lost a lot of money that day.

In hindsight, we were pretty impressed at the hustle and will shake the guys hand. We definitely would still fuck the chick.

    The End

    Epilogue:
Later that night, we stopped being sad and started being awesome. We got drunk, and fucked chicks. The balance in this universe had been restored and all was good.

Seen that scam posted before, but not for a long time.

Another example of where a little research can save a lot of grief.

Sorry to hear it happen again but thanks for posting it. The reminder will help others.

Also happy to hear it did not ruin the trip.
