I don't know about Melia. Avenida Pasture runs north and south from Avenida George Washington to Avenida Indepencia. At the intersection of Avenida Indepencia & Avenida Pasture is Villar Hnos restaurant.

Memories... The first trip I ever took out of the US, JFK-SDQ in Dec 2002 and I stayed at Melia... My friend and I didn't know shit and we winged it... Melia was NOT chica friendly (at least when I was there) but we managed to pay off the security guard to get chicas in.. A few houses consisted of most of our action on that short trip...

Sheraton bought the Melia and it's open now. I forget the new name but it is still not chica friendly.

Gazcue is one of my favorite neighborhoods in SDQ, I always want to spend more time there, but get so caught up in other shit, I never have time to hang out there. The street walkers there are scary looking for sure.

The Nicolas de Ovando is my favorite Santo Domongo Hotel. Luxury on a budget!
My last trip to the capital I got a room for under $100 using Priceline Vacation Packages.
I was also surprised that the hotel was chica friendly as I expected to pay an additional fee.

Im booked at Hotel Shakey for 2 weeks in August. Now youre telling me they dont have a microwave and the wifi sucks. What kind of apartment doesnt have a microwave? I need a microwave when im going to be there for 14 days. I may look into other places and cancel that reservation. Thanks for the info.

Have you looked into Airbnb, or flipkey? For less than what you'd pay for a hotel, you can rent a real nice apartment, in a great neighborhood of SDQ. I have my own place, and yet my last 3 trips to SDQ, I've gone the apartment rental route, because I can't get over how many great apartments, you could find in amazing neighborhoods for up to $30 dollars a day less, than staying at a hotel.

Btw, I just looked this place up and it is way too expensive for Santo Domingo. 2 weeks were like $4500. Fuck that brother.

I wanted an apartment this trip but I just may go this route again. Usually I stay at the Napolitano (You can walk 3 or 4 chicas in at a time and they could careless) but that place really needs some renovations.

Well, IDK what specific amenities you're looking for, or what kind of place you'd want, but I have found a ton of good places, for great prices.

    https://www.flipkey.com/santo-doming...ntals/p344485/

This is the place I stayed at in November, and where I'll be staying at in two weeks during my next trip to SDQ. The renter is a little airheaded so some of the details of the apartment are wrong, but none that really matter, just details that would make the apartment more appealing. It's a 3 bedroom apartment not two for example, and his rate is $68 dollars a night. It was a sound system, washer & dryer, security 24/7, hot water all the time, the fastest residential high speed internet I've ever seen in the DR, and most of all the location is prime real estate. It's within 5 blocks all 3 major universities in SDQ, across the street from a casino/hotel, right next to the train station, tons of points of interest within 5 - 15 minutes via car. Places like this for me, are sooooo much better than a hotel. The only issue is that the renter has to answer to the owner of the building, so he has made it very clear no hookers, or girls dressed like hookers. He's had issues with renters in the past bringing back working girls, and the people who live in the apartment building have complained, so if she looks to much like a hoe, I was told take her to the cabana.

I would rather stay here, than a hotel any day of the week.

    Re: 05/2015 - Camaro’s overview of Gazcue May 2015

I didnt want to trash mitch on the internet cause i am sure his apartments are cool, but his service and attitude was very shitty. I spend the week trying to track him cause dmoney rents from him so i figured i would keep the money in the same circle. I after finally settling a place, and method of payment i got to SDQ and he forgot about by trip/dates/times. He told me to wait me 1 hour until his guy gets there, I told him NO, 1hr is 3hrs in dominican time. He begged me to wait and he will get there in a hour. I told him it takes me 30minutes to get there from the airport so I will give him 15minutes when i get there.

He gets there, starts his snob story, he started treating me like he was doing me a favor and its a privilege to stay there. I was passive aggressive cause i just want to get there and take a shower, RD is fucking hot. He kept patronizing me so i just left and got a taxi. He called me a asshole, LOL

Hanzo, i know Dmoney and you rent from him but i wouldn’t ever do business with him.

The dudes first name is Mitch Elbiali and his company manages the rental of lots of places in RD (flipkey and airbnb). Remember you renting the apartment and also doing business with 3 party so things might not go as planned

I wouldn't recommend Mitch to anyone, he's a dickhead, and an asshole, but he gets along great with DMoney, which means I don't have to deal with his shit, but I do agree he's a different type of dude, and takes a person with an overly aggressive nature like his to deal well with him. I was just using his rentals as an example. I won't lie Mitch is going to keep getting my money, his apartments, and their locations are too good for me to give up, lol.
