To me Boca Chica is ruined by how aggressive the tots on the beach are, I went there with my wing about 3 trips ago, and the same dude kept circling back around trying to sell us his painting, it wasn't until the threat of physical violence was established that he finally got the point. In my experience thats the norm in Boca Chica.
They are correct. The Juan Dolio playa publico is a much better stretch of beach and it is a joy for a strong swimmer since it's not protected by a break and the wave come all the way to the shore. The sellers at BC are a PITA until you tune them out.

If I traveled here a half dozen times a year like I used to I'd spend more time in Juan Dolio and Guayacanes rather than BC like I used to but for a couple long weekends a year BC is just fine for me. The bulk of my travels will not include the D.R. in the near future as I'm looking to spend more time in the other hemispheres (Southern and Eastern). Regardless, there will always be a soft spot in my heart for Santo Domingo and the surrounding area, Boca Chica included. I've had too much fun there not to love it. I like the noise, I like the chaos and I like the resiliency and spirit of its denizens.

You need to come out the Garant, make a right and go in other direction for about ten minutes by foot.

There was this one tout that I finally had to bark on. Seriously. I was considering whether it was would be worth it to lay this fucker out. Fortunately, he caught me on the first day of my trip, and not the last.

Thing is, this dude wasn't even dominican. He's a 50 year old guy from NYC. His sob story is that he lost his passport, and is now stuck in the DR. Total bullshit. This mutherfucker stalked me, hovering around while I was talking to chicas. Even after I'd repeatedly informed him that I had absolutely no need of his gutter spanish for meeting chicas.

It was when I was talking to these two exceptionally built haitianas, that this cat took me to a place I've never been in the DR. I'm in the midst of arranging a 3some when this fucker runs over saying that these are his friends, and that he's going to help me negotiate a happy hour. First day of a much needed vacay. I've been more than polite to this dude. And I'm just about to get it in and let off some steam. I went off like Bernie Mac. Can't remember what I said. But I do remember that everyone around us stopped and stared. And it was then that I realized that I was about to let this parasite ruin my entire night. So I simply turned and started walking back to the Garant. Fortunately, one of the Haitianas caught up with me. And when we got back to my room, she did a stellar job of working out all of that built up tension.

That fucker was just the worst of many aggressive hustlers that I had to deal with while in BC. And honestly, that's what stuck with me. That pervasive sense of desperation amongst the local hustlers, that I just don't see in Sosua. It really put a damper on the beginning of my vacay. I couldn't wait to catch a cab to the airport to meet my buddy and drive to the North Coast, so that I could relax in a decent vacation rental, and hit the strip without dodging aggressive touts.

I like the fresh Fish kiosks. Not the rip off 700 peso one's down by Hamaca, but the 300 peso ones down on the Andres side of the beach.

I am glad I am a rude NYer. They stay away from me.

Boca Chica Update August 8, 2015

I visited the below listed Casa de Citas:

    Casa Iraisa Calle Juan Batista

Casa Iraisa is behind a steel sliding gate and when you walk in you enter a pool area. After arriving they ring the bell and about 12 chicas present themselves. Let me say this is no Crystals-Puerto Plata or Passions-Santiago if there was 1 “7” in the group they would have been doing well. The chicas were not high pressure like Crystals they were laid back.
The pool looked to be an ornament because it appeared to be unused. There was also a restaurant on site but no menu…REALLY?...go figure! The prices quoted were 2500ST 4000 for 2 hours and 5500TLN. Yayow advised el hefe came down to 1500ST.
There are rooms in house or you can take the chica out. Talent rotates so what is poor today might be better tomorrow.

Playboy Club –(Green Bar)Calle Jose Pena Gomez

I went for a stroll on Calle Jose Pena Gomez north from Calle Duarte and found the Playboy Club. The Playboy Club is a casa de cita, where the girls sitoutside watching the traffic go by. I went inside and the girls followed. There was a bar where the Mamasan also served as the bartender. I sat at the bar and the girls did their booty dance trying to get my attention on the dance floorin front of the bar. There are rooms in house and the Mamasan told me it is 2500ST, 4000 for 2 hours and5000 TLN. I didn’t negotiate but I got the feeling she would be flexible. There were 4 girls 1 was an 8 and my opinion flaca with a canela complexion and theothers ranged between 6-7 and nothing to write home about. The Mamasan advised there are more chicas available, I might try to taste before I leave.

    Avenida 20 de Diciembre

Avenida 20 de Diciembre is around the corner from Duarte and not a far walk from El Batey. This is the street that the all-inclusive resort Be Live Hamaca is on. The below listed venues are on this street also.

    KOTICE Night Club

This is primarily a Dominican spot with an in-door and outside section. The outside section has a bar with tables and chairs that face the street and they also have a restaurant. When I went is was very slow with maybe a half dozen couples.

    BC

This is the night club for Be Live Hamaca and it is very large inside. There are 2 dancefloors and 2 bars. There are also tables and chairs along with couches. When I went is was almost empty.

It's not exclusive to Be Live Hamaca paying guests?
