I remember eating at Britannias 10 years ago when they had that British girl working as a waitress. I forgot her name, I wonder what ever happen to her.

    Totally agree!

I had breakfast there in the late morning a couple of times last visit and with a couple cups of coffee, was good to go until early evening.

Excellent value. As far as Bourbon St, I'll give it a try when in town on my next visit and pay their price for what I assume is their specialties, the cajun bbq, fish and southern style cooking.

Never been a big brunch guy, it's either/or for me between breakfast and lunch.

And for breakfast, I'll stick with the Brit!

Thanks guys and much appreciated. We've been doing a lot of work on the menu and specials.....breakfast has always been a staple, but the dinner menu is coming along spectacularly.

Can't wait to see you guys soon!

Bourbon Street is now collecting taxes

I eat at Bourbon Street often when I am in Sosua and as I can recall I have never seen taxes included on my bill. Recently my bill for the same meal was almost 20% more due to taxes.

While I was there I took some spy shots in and out of the restaurant. Security is not allowing the chicas to loiter in front of the restaurant like they used to.

Below is a picture of Milka the manager

No Bourbon Street is not serving water buffalo...haaaaaaaaaaa!

And for those who like pink hair

My very first time in the DR was partly spent at Jack Tar Resort in Playa Dorada back in November 2003. I managed to sneak away from my girlfriend and spend an afternoon in Sosua to see if it lived up to it's billing. Ended up spending most of the afternoon sitting at the Brittania drinking and chatting with Barb and Linden, the original owners. Since then I have probably eaten hundreds of meals there.

Even though each successive owner had their own styles, they all managed to maintain the reputation the place had built up since it opened. From the reports I have heard from friends and what I have read on line, it sounds like Irie has continued to keep the Brittania at the top of the list for many expats and visitors.
