We're not just talking about sex here, nor normal human interaction. There are guys who are so steeped in the societal norms of the cat/ dog game in the USA that they can't understand the type of arrangements which are the norm in the D.R. because they've spent their lives being convinced that there had to be some requisite level of emotional commitment in order to justify a sexual desire. Either that or the opposite extreme where he's got to be parked in a dark alley with a crack Ho or a junkie and it's the thrill of doing "something dirty and dangerous" rather than the sex that gets him off.
The P4P in the D.R. is nothing like P4P in the States but is a whole lot more akin to just dating but the age barrier is lifted and propina is the normal expectation. The more fleeting and temporary the encounter, the higher the propina expected.
Guys getting together with Chicas in the D.R. has the feel of "date night" to it, especially if the evening involves dining, drinking and dancing but in this case the pressure is off because you already know what is expected of you, she already knows what is expected of her and the fun is in the moment and "getting lucky" has nothing to do with it. Everybody's getting laid. Many of us from the frigid world can't picture Heaven being any better than this.
Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. – H. L. Mencken
Except for the singular fact that there is still the wheel and there will always be 3 billion people trying to re-invent that shit.
The advice of a casa de cita manager to an inebriated acquaintance still rings in my ear:
"You take the girl, you have fun, you pay the girl...."
It's the only thing I miss about NYC. When I went back for the 4th weekend last year going out at 2 am for slices or a Reuben or some deli cold cuts was mandatory. Anybody ordering room service from midtown hotels should be dumped in the harbor in cement filled galoshes. The DMV is a gastronomic wasteland by comparison, especially after midnight.
