Was it a Rancho vibe?? Or Classicos vibe? Or combo of the two?

I guess a clubby Rancho Tipico. Waitresses dancing. Haitianas doing their thing. No VIP section with guys popping bottles that I could see, although maybe that will come with time.
Some weird shit like some tables were given umbrellas they could use when the snow machine was turned on. (The snow is bits and blobs of soap foam/suds that are shot from above some tables)

There is supposed to be a VIP area but it might not be open yet.

It is located upstairs to the left of the DJ booth but it is such a small area it will never be practical and I wouldn't expect it to get much use.

Did they have the outdoors part of the venue complete?

That is where the kitchen is to be located.

There was alot of work to be done on that part so I would expect it is not done yet

I would tend to concur, but it was even more of a Classicos feel to me. Albeit an anticlimactic opening, it was Not what I expected as far as crowd size for an opening......but what I expected as far as the places 'vibe.'

Being more of a RT vibe person, the outside has more potential appeal to me......if/when they complete it. Let's hope.

The big oudoor video screen was working, kitchen was not. There are tables to sit at outside as well as a railing to lean on in front of the old pool. I have no idea what he will do with the pool.

    A future theme night perhaps.

Or maybe they will stock it with fish and you can have a catch and cook your own fish night.

Opening night was really kicking at 11p and beyond.

Second night was a LOT slower. 11 p maybe two handful of customers.
Only slightly improved at 12:30a when I left.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not it will do well. Places like this tend to take off a little slower with a lot of people having a "wait and see what happens" attitude. Especially true with Sosua.

Here's a FB video of opening night, I believe.

How was City Lights these two nights?
was it affected big time or still had enough people to make it appealing?

That is what I am interested to hear, how have the other places been affected? Clásicos, City Lights, Disco at playa chiquita? All these places are a bit away from each other, so it would seem to me you would pick one and stay there for the night, or better said early morning.

As we all know, these things take time to pan out and the dust to settle. The next few weeks, or so, will paint a clearer picture on the nightlife scene in Sosua.

High Caribe has only been open two nights. Not even out of diapers yet.

Rolleyes Re: 05/2017 - High Caribbean Disco

If the HC manages to make it and if the "powers that be" start or continue to close puta related businesses then things might finally to move east like discussed and even predicted going back a decade, mas o menos. Clasico may or may not get closed along with Merengue....and who cares anyway?
Merengue is but a shadow of its former self and Clasico has sucked since 2006/7!

City Lights while on the "right side" of Dr. Rosen is probably still too close to the restaurant zone (and on the wrong side of Hotel Europa) and will get closed leaving only a few "german" bars/restaurants that don't amount to much in "the grand scheme of things" and will either keep adapting or will get closed, but probably the former.

Then the disco at the Casino in Playa Chiquita will give HC a little friendly competition and give mongers at least a choice.....and more things will open or be built between HC/Casino and Europa Hotel. Everyone wins except Willy and the owners and patrons of the "hooker bars" on the (former) main strip of Pedro Clisante.

I'm glad I got my last few trips in in Sosua/DR since I'm now booked a few trips elsewhere and am looking to book more....anywhere but the DR!

I fucking LOVE Sosua and the DR but as I remember it in the past and not in the direction that it's heading. Moving on...finally....

    Jamaica
    Cartegeña
    Sint Maarten
    Greece?
    Spain?
    Portugal?
    St. Lucia?
    Guadeloupe?
    Martinique?

ANYWHERE hot and with great beaches and restaurants....and putas

They shut down before because they heard you were coming. If you come back now they will shut down again.
