That's what i mean. I haven't heard anyone talk about the place in so long i figured they had just quietly shut their doors

The last time I was in there they had jacked up there prices and the quality was subpar at best. Haven't been back since.

I enjoyed it, the couple of times I've been there -- like when I went down with a bunch of guys from that "IFTC" board and we rented the whole place for a few days, back in September 2013. (Huskerdude, did you go diving with me that trip? Or was it someone else?)

The big problem with staying there, for me, was that I couldn't get away from the "music." Of course, I was an outlier in that crew; I was getting up in the mornings to go diving, so I actually wanted to get some sleep at night.

It's been a long time since I heard anything from Jeffrey, and I haven't heard anything at all from the new management - so, like you, JD, I figured they had "put out the red light" years ago and quietly left the scene. They might still be worth another look, for nostalgia's sake....

But it's pretty convenient for you, Weyland, and I'm glad to hear they're still open.

Funny thing about hurricanes, this one was smaller and less powerful than Irma, the eye was about 105 miles off the coast north of Samana which is on the other side of the island, before we got anything. And with this one we got way more sustained winds, still windy right now. You can certainly see how a direct hit could have and would have been devastating. Where I am, I am looking at nothing but the Carribbean Sea no other land mass south until you get to Venezuela, a city of roughly 3 million people, many who live in nothing but huts, yeah a direct hit would be devastating.

    Re: 09/2017 - Hurricane Maria

Things are ok at FOD, about a dozen girls on site day & night with 3-4 staying there 24/7. All sizes & shapes with a few really good quality. Great water pressure & hot water. No problems with anything there. Jeffrey is completely out of the picture. It dominican run by Pedro. His daughter & son run it & they are iffy (lazy).
They have switched business models and cater & depend on walk-in business instead of people actually staying there. Regular room are around 50US/night. ST is high 2500p. I still go there for a few I've known & like for a while now & also bring girls from the outside in there. They don't charge me any extra cause they know me, but I think for others they charge a fee to bring a girl in. I've heard from others that chica selection varies greatly there sometimes only a few girls there, but there was plenty there in the middle of hurricane Maria when I was just there.

Huskerdude, does that 2500p include the ST room? Because if it does, that would make more sense.

Sounds to me like he is saying it is $50USD for the room plus $2500RD to the girl for ST.

If that's the case seems a little pricey to me

When I was there on Saturday the girls all agreed the price was 4200 pesos for two hours including use of room. Another board member was with me and can confirm that info.

He ate a hamburger which he said was OK but priced at 400 pesos. There are no grandes available to stop cheap fuckers like us sharing. No idea of drink prices because when it is time for the check I am always smitten by an urgent need to visit the restroom, but they were always a bit higher than Blackbeards prices.

I haven't been to BB in awhile either but I understand they are a little less for a room and a S-T

In any case both places are there to serve and I can see the appeal for some.

We still need places like BB, FOD and Pica Flor around to help keep a lid on pricing so to speak.

That's one of the things that made Passions so good cause if a chica wanted to command what many of them are trying to do in Sosua you could just tell them to take a hike and head to Passions instead.

Plus Passions had some real beauties available for our enjoyment.

Yes it is pricey, it is $50US for room & 2500p for girl & I was staying there. Sometimes they'll even charge more than that for an outsider for just ST room & chica. So if you actually stay there, the room is cheap cause it includes taxes, etc. but girls cost more than BB & food is more than BB.

Curious if anyone has any information, a couple of friends were planning on coming to Sosua, on Tuesday staying at Villa Chessa next to playa Chiquita casino. They were told that that property is flooded, and because of that without power. Anyone on ground with any knowledge, so I can pass it on?

I was thinking DR tourism could see an increase from people who usually go to Pueto Rico, st, martin etc.

    DR was relatively unscathed.

Punta Cana could see bookings soar.....Or maybe not and people just wont go who normally went to PR, St. martin...

I was thinking the same thing

Wonder what the cruise lines are going to do. Lot's of the signature island stops for the cruise lines have been damaged and places like St Thomas and St Martin are big deal for the cruise lines.

Even the small island of Dominica who really depends on the cruise ships stopping there are going to really suffer for awhile

Looks like they are still going there but wonder if the people will stay away for awhile

I just stopped there and talked to the security guard. He assured me that everything was perfect, no problems with water, power or air conditioning.

Was going to say I can't hardly imagine Villa Chessa being subject to flooding since they are quite aways from the water and it's a pretty good drop to the water from where they are at.

From what I have been told the power is back on pretty much everywhere in Sosua but not to many people in town right now.

I couldn't imagine it either, but that is what I was told, so I did due diligence and asked, already reported what I found to the ex board members about the location.

I can't say for Villa Chessa, but there was waste deep water all around that area in the floods of last November.

I didnt see any flooding from Irma or Maria.
