Another black eye for the DR coming on the heels of these mysterious deaths of Americans while staying at AI's down there. Most people will only read the headlines and avoid getting too deep into the story. As time goes, I can only imagine the number of people being let go from their jobs in the hospitality business as the DR will get labeled as too dangerous to go. I hope not, but for many potential tourists who might have considered taking a vacation down there, the writing is already on the wall.

I mean, if a national sports hero can get shot, the thinking will go, then no one is safe walking around down there.

I'm obviously happy for Ortiz that he will pull through, and equally pleased that a little street justice from some locals was served on one of the guys, a policeman for fuck sake, who is accused of shooting Big Papi.
