08/2019 - Luca Hotel, Santo Domingo

    Luca Hotel, Santo Domingo

Luca Hotel is located in the Colonial Zone off El Conde in Santo Domingo

You can walk approximately a block and you will be on El Conde

Check in went smooth. The receptionist insisted on speaking English even though I was speaking Spanish...haaaaaaaaaa!

This hotel is NOT girl friendly, I booked for two and had no problem with my guest she only had to show her cedula when she arrived. Extra guest fee is $30.00 and security is very tight on the property.

The hotel has a very nice eclectic ambiance it feels very homey and comfortable. The grounds were well kept and maintained.

I enjoyed the room but two complaints I had was the mini bar didn't have enough variety and the bathroom toilet had one of those weird press me flushers hat barely worked.

Like this Colonial zone recon..thanks Cam....I still say for the monger you really dont want to stay in most of these boutique colonial zone places....Napolitano or Riazor is where you want to go..

I love exploring the zone....I think I have walked by these hotels cam has been to....I still havent figured out the zone....It takes a lot of exploring to figure the whole thing out....I got cam lost that time..lol...

There are discos that I want to check out I see some of my roster go to that might have free lancers....There are some rats on the conde but the hot ones dont walk up and down the conde....

I am changing it up next trip and going back to Boca as I did Napoitano last 2 trips...love the history of the zone...fucking spanish rampaging everywhere..muthafuckas

    The Roof

The roof has a scenic view of the area and also has a bar and restaurant

    11.jpg12.jpg

The Booking.com web cite said the hotel had a restaurant and the front receptionist advised it was open for dinner from 5-11pm. I arrived at 9pm with my date and the cook was not available. The bar tender said they were only serving pizza and that obviously was not going to work.

My date and I had to leave and go to one of the restaurants on El Conde. I really wanted a self contained date experience without having to leave the property but that was not to be.

    Breakfast

    20190802_091726.jpg20190802_093427.jpg

I had another problem with the breakfast. Booking.com has a selection for free breakfast when you make your reservation, I was sure I made the selection but when I checked out the receptionist told me that breakfast was not included. The breakfast was $12.00 for what I normally pay $7.00.

    Conclusion

The staff was very professional and I really liked the décor of the hotel and the room I had. I was very disappointed in the cook not being available for dinner and the breakfast was too expensive IMHO.

The jury is still out on this hotel I might try it again although there are better options in the area.

I agree with you on the Napolitano. Once you get there you don't even have to leave if you don't want to. They have a good restaurant,a disco,a little gym,a pool,a casino with working girls. The rooms are good too. A little dated but they are fine. Chica friendly and the price is right.
