    More flights for the summer!


    American Airlines (AA)

    Increase frequency on Fort Lauderdale (FLL)- Santo Domingo (SDQ) route from 3 weekly to 5 weekly (7 June) and daily (7 July), also timetable changes

    Effective 7 June 2004

    AA 0846 SDQ 08:30 - 10:45 FLL
    AA 0845 FLL 17:55 - 20:05 SDQ

    Operated in B737-800 aircraft

    American Airlines also increase flights on New York JFK - Santiago (STI) route
    from 2 daily to 4 daily effective 1 July 2004 all operated in A300-600 aircraft

    schedule as follows;

    New York JFK (JFK) to Santiago (STI)

    AA 0833 JFK 06:00 - 09:38 STI
    AA 2051 JFK 10:55 - 14:34 STI
    AA 2295 JFK 12:45 - 16:26 STI*
    AA 1173 JFK 20:50 - 00:31 STI*

    Santiago (STI) to New York JFK (JFK)

    AA 1774 STI 07:40 - 11:14 JFK*
    AA 0834 STI 10:48 - 14:27 JFK
    AA 2054 STI 15:48 - 19:29 JFK
    AA 2296 STI 17:40 - 21:20 JFK *

    * = new additional flights effective 1st July until 7 September 2004

    The question is, will the (STI) prices go up if Jet Blue does in fact pull out?

    I think probably. AA is the only carrier to Haiti and it is much more expensive to fly there. I just booked for one adult $620.DR less than $300. I don't know how they make money at that price, the real ticket is only $150, the rest is taxes and fees.

    The prices will definitely go up with reduced competition! They should kick in some extra frequent flyer credit!
