long page load times as compared to other sites

i've noticed that it takes a long time, often but not always, for ISOC pages to load or change.

comparing this to say DR1 where it is almost instantaneous.

it is definitely not my computer, it's been noticeable to me on at least 4 computers, because other sites seem to be really quick when ISOC is slow as viewed on the same machine at the same time.

why?

anyone else experiencing this?

it often take 5-8 seconds to respond, sometime 20 something seconds or more

It happens to me once in a while.

it usually happens to me when changing areas of the site

e.g. if i'm on say this page and want to go to the main page and hit the "in search of chicas" link

then want to "mark forums read"

another 5-8+ seconds

then wish to see the "currently active users"
