STI to Sosua - Sat Sept 17th

ISOC Brethren,

Anyone know how far the Caribe Autobus station is from the Santiago (STI) Airport?

Is it close enough for a moto? Or is there a conveinent gua-gua stop? Any idea what a reasonable regular taxi fare would be?

The Caribe Bus web site seems to list two locations:
Ave 27 de Fe Esq Las American
and
Las Colinas
Does that sound right and if so, which is closer to the airport?

I've searched this site (overall GREAT info by the way) but couldn't find this info.

PS. I'm on the 6am flight out of JFK to STI this Saturday (17th). Arrives in Santiago at 9:35am. Anyone on that flight want to split a cab? either to Caribe Tours or all the way to Sosua / Puerto Plata?

Your answers:
NEVER EVER use a moto in Santiago, it's not a tourist town with light traffic! Unless you have a death wish.

The nearest guagua or motoconcho stop is a long ways away, the airport is outside of the city on it's own access road (3-4 miles) so no reason to have a route there.

Jimmy answered it, but with the price of gasoline I doubt that price still exists. Hell they raised concho rates in Santiago so I am positive the taxis have followed suit.

Be careful telling him where to take you, both of the bus stations are on 27 de Feb. The one on the corner of Las American is closer. Either way they both have buses going to Sosua.
