I will post directions of this place later tonight.

Anyway, if you enter the place, it is a bar and a workout center (treadmill etc.) The owner is very discreet.

Its 1,000 pesos for a full-body massage (with lotion or baby oil) and sex. There is no time limit. You can take your time. But the fun must be conducted in their place.
Cheeno, Cheeno, Cheeno.... I buy ya books, send ya to school....

GBP is Gimnasio Bar Privado, not gymnasym.. You were close though...

Very chica friendly but you must pay a $10 guest fee if booked as a single.

Although the last 2 times i've stayed here, i booked as a single early evening and the night watchman had no idea whether i paid the fee or not.

I was there this past Saturday.

I might be blind (I'm told if you beat it too much, you do go blind), but I cannot find the 'address' of this hotel anywhere on the web site. Do you have the address?

I stayed in one of the suites earlier this month. Small but comfortable - the manager is a prick but the staff was excellent. Had a problem with the shower handle which caused sudden cold bursts and couldn't get anyone to fix it for the 3 days I was there. Also be advised if you're driving the garage closes at midnight and i had to bribe security every night to get in around 2 or 3 a.m.
Pix are of outside balcony at night and inside balcony just outside the room (good wi-fi)

The Palacio is another great one but in a different league. I would recommend the Discovery for the value minded budget traveler. The mid-level room is what you want for $47-$50 incl tax a night.

Yep, I gotta agree wit ya here...I tried DISCOVERY for one night back in March (to use as a secondary hotel) and the CUNT at the front desk was almost enough to make me wanna leave.....noisy as fuck location too, HOWEVER, the restaurant food was good, the prices better than they should be and a very "target rich environment" on the west end of Conde....

All that being said, on the rare occasion that I want to be the "bigg dogg", I'm in the Senior Suite at Palacio.....the rest of the time, my dogg house is Hotel Mercure......(anybody stayed at Hodelpa? Help me out)

Hey fellows what's up? Just wanted to shout out to some of the frequent milers and their wing partners on this board about two hotels a buddy of mine told me about. Have any of you heard of the Villa Italia on Avenida Independencia or Royal Palace hotels on avenida Abraham Lincoln before? If so, what was your experiences like with them?

    Thanks,

    Cheeno or Santo Domingo Vets,

would you say hotel discovery is a good target place to be for the first timer in SD? it seems pretty central to get a good lay of land in SD without getting to "lost in translation"

    Hey Hempstead

Yes, Hotel Discovery is a good hotel for a first-timer in Santo Domingo.

Just avoid the "Economy room". It is so small that I felt like I was in a prison cell. lol

The Raizor Hotel is another hotel that I recommend for first-timers.

    Hello Dewon

I have never stayed at either hotel.

    Royal Palace
I would sometimes pass by the Royal Palace while driving. But this hotel seems a bit away from all the action in the Malecon. From this hotel to the Jaragua Hotel, I think it would be around a 20-minute walk by foot.

I do not like the location of this hotel.

    Villa Italia
This hotel is around a five to ten-minute walk from the Hilton Hotel.
This hotel is near a college campus and is located right across the street from a major bus stop where tons of college girls wait for the bus.

Compared to the Royal Palace, the Villa Italia is a better location.

Just to make sure - listen to Cheeno - AVOID "Economy room". It is trully horrible even with one chic you have to climb over shit to get to the bathroom, bringing 2 is out of the question.

Hotel Discovery suites are nice with a little kitchen with fridge and microwave, a tiny sitting area with love seat and good internet on the patio outside your door. I paid $85 for two people last time in August.
I still prefer the Palacio, especially with the pool and giant jacuzzi.

    Re: Hotel Discovery

Yeah i usually get the $50 mid-range room at Hotel Discovery and pay the $10 chica fee.

Sometimes i stay at Hotel Mecure when the $40-$50 internet special is available (breakfast included).

I used to stay at Palacio but i'm not paying anymore than $50-$60 for a any room in DR.
