Brand named food at the Playero is expensive. Some local ham is good. Imported salami not too expensive. Local cheese sucks and the Kraft is about 5 bucks for 16 slices. I also go to Costco's and get a box of 36 Hersey bars for $12.50. Chicas kill for good chocolate. Some people bring extra shirts and socks. I bring as much food as the weight limit will allow.

    Hello guttaman

It sounds like you are an expert in meat.

If you cook some ribs for me, then I will cook some of my finest beef fried rice for you. What do you think?

If you can't is there a realiable butcher to get some American beef? I was thinking of bringing a box of Omaha's steak with some dry ice and I should be set to go.
When I lived in santo domingo I would bring in soft sided coolers with frozen meat all the time. I am not sure if there are rules against it but was never eben asked about it. I would bring in steaks, lamb chops, roast beef, brisket, leg of lamb etc. Used to bring in ribs as well but found a place that sold good ribs.

One time on of my suitcases didn't make it on the plane, but fortunately it wasn't the one with the frozen meat! I was worried that I had just lost 200 bucks worth of food, and wondering what I would eat for the next few weeks. . . . .

they seem to love good milk chocolate...go figure 8O . not sure about the semisweet dark though.
When you can think of yesterday without regret and tomorrow without fear, you are near contentment.
Your opinions are not my problem...
