    Adrian Tropical (Part II)

    Hey guys

I went to Adrian Tropical (on the Malecon) and they have the same slow and poor service.

It took them forever to bring me a menu, the drinks were not that cold, and the food took forever to be prepared. And the place was not that crowded (weekday afternoon).

    This place is open 24/7

Adrian Tropical (on the Malecon) no longer sells alcohol. No beer, no alcohol period!!!

Here is the contact info. of the restaurants

You get this soup with your menu

I ate on the 2nd floor

You can also sit outdoors at this restaurant

This drink was not that cold

    This dish was just okay

This soup tasted like diarrhea. A big "F*CK YOU" to the cook.

    Hello Lustfull

The first soup (the very small bowl), you just eat it with a spoon (while waiting for your food and drinks). I do not know what it is called.

The second soup, I forgot the name of it. Sorry. Hopefully someone else can answer it for you.

The soup is Sancocho. I personally love it. A bottle of water and the large bowl of Sancocho are the best hangover medicine in all of DR IMO.
The quality may have gone downhill at Adrian Tropical, Ive heard mixed reports lately. Sad , cause its a nice hangout and real convenient from the Melia or Jaragua. In the late AM sometimes you can meet some nice chicas here. At Night it was pretty slow service.

jd426 is absolutely correct, the small bowl is a teaser bowl of Sancocho, which is Domincan Stew, a traditional plate. All they give you is the liquid in the teaser. It's an extremely popular dish. An extremely popular Monday lunch, great for dealing with hangovers..

The soup that tasted like diarrhea looks like pigs feet, also very popular.

They also have other daily specials that cater to the local crowd, such as cow feet(not the hoofs, of course) stew, tripe stew, and other stuff that most of you wouldn't like.

The food at Adrian Tropical is served a little on the bland side, and you add condiments to your tastes.

I've had the mofongo twice, and both times ended up getting extensive dental work done due to breaking a tooth on the pork rinds.

The better half also got sick there once.

But, once again, it's an extremely popular restuarant. Not a power lunch kind of place(thats a different story), but very popular with the middle class crowd.
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..

    Re: Adrian Tropical (Part II)

I used to like having a few beers at sunset or early evening at Adrians. Now that the new laws are in effect they do not serve beer so they can stay open 24/7. Still an ok place to take a date as many girls dig it. The food is reasonably priced but expensive for what you get. There is nothing really expensive on the menu but things like a chicken breast cost more than most other places and is not as good.

BTW it also looks like cheeno went right after it rained as the water looks brown and muddy. On normal days the view is pretty nice and that is what you really pay for.
