Motoconcho's protest about evening ban

The motorcyclists who drive around as motor-taxis are angry.

Apparently the Minister of Transport considers banning motoconcho's from transporting passengers after 8pm. The Minister feels they should only work from 6am to 8pm. The motorcyclists are particularly angry because they charge double tariff during the evening, and thus earn most of their wages then.
Apparently the Minister plans to implement this new measure to improve traffic safety and reduce criminality. Many motooconcho's often drive dangerously, and do not obey traffic regulations.

What effect will this have with the chicas? Will they be forced to stay the night with you if they can't get a ride back to chatamicos ? In a way i'm kinda for this since it will cut down on the noise at night.

They need to do something. Motorcycles are the leading cause of death for young guys.

Idiots that race around at night, pulling wheelies, going the wrong way on one way streets, all without lights.

How stupid is that?

They put a hugh strain on overburdened public hospitals, and have taken many a passenger with them to the pearly gates.

On a related note, did anyone see the woman that got killed just after she got on a bus? Her bus driver and another were RACING! Hers ran a red light and hit a car. She went out the front window, and hit a pole with her face.

i'll bet you if they cut down on the motocounch's that crime will decrease. i think its these guys that deal most of the drugs, set up most of the tourists, use the hookers to rob most of the gringo's.. the problem now wil be that after 8 the chances of getting robbed face to face might go up or they will be in the clubs beggin for presidentes to no end.... not sure which is worst?

let me guesss you get a kickback from the motorcounch union? free rides? you cant possible think sosua wouldn't be safer without them? most of these guys are thieves released from jail.. yes there r a few good guys but the most troublemakers that r lookin to get close to you to get info on how best to set you up... either drugs,girls,etc..

well if there was some kind of union to be able to track them, such as a pin number, (medalion) so when a tourist gets robbed all she needs is his pin number to report him.. then you could weed thru the good one with the three strike system...

They should have authorized moto conches so people know who they are dealing with. Make them wear helmets and vests with a number on it and have an ID tag on their bike or something. This way they all know who the legit motos are and its safer for all of us.

I had a few try to overcharge me in the past. Yes they are annoying outside of classicos, I walk away and never get one from there. That is where the ones I had problems with are. Otherwise I need to get back to the condo I am renting at night and they are quick and cheap.
