I just got back from Santo Domingo last week.

I went to all of the places you can imagine in Santo Domingo. All wanted 5,000 from midnight until 9am. What the Fuck?!?

And if I were to take a girl to the hotel, I owuld have to pay a fee.

And I usually need at least five hours of sleep in a day. So 9 hours minus 5 hours is only 4 hours of fun. 4 hours of fun for 5000 pesos? Fuck no.

So I met some girls at internet cafes. Chat with them and try to get into thier pants. I succeeded only once and she ended up asking me for money, food, clothes, etc.

I am starting to get annoyed with the monger life in Santo Domingo.
C'mon down to the North coast with us. Plenty of toilets to clog!
Hey New World, what about that place you're always raving about? Did you have any luck there? I think it's called "casa de las modelos".....

    Hi there

I went there at around midnight but the manager was charging me 5,000 pesos for the whole night. So I said fuck it.

I told him that I paid less before but he said he does not remember. So I left.

So I met freelancers at the Jaragua Casino, restaurants, or internet cafes.
WOW!! So much for casa de las modelos........

By the way, how much were you paying for the freelancers, if you don't mind me asking?
My problem is that I do not speak a word of Spanish. If you speak Spanish, then you can probably negotiate.

I am getting a little annoyed of the B.S. in Santo Domingo. I will either go to Sosua or Costa Rica. Especially after looking at vak's thread.

    Take care.
I agree that you should indeed venture "off the beaten path" but everyone must visit SOSUA at least once. That is a requirement when living a true monger lifestyle!!

I'm sorry for missing your second question.

One girl at the Jaragua wanted 1500 pesos for three hours. So we went back to my hotel. I gave her a 500 peso tip because she did a fantastic job.

She is the same girl that I posted here some time ago. I forgot her name and I do not have her cell. She has long hair past her shoulders and she is dark-skinned and is around 5'6" or 5'7" tall and slim. She speaks zero English.

    Guys,
Santo Domingo is happening. Go to Boca Chica and get a hotel room. Many listed here. Hang out in Boca for a night or two. Go to Santo Domingo and hang out during the day. Lots of chicas looking for a man to sweep them off their feet for a night. Usually a dinner drinks and a cab ride will do fine for some. Different than Sosua. You have to talk a little more game than how much. I have to tell you once you meet a nice girl (I did) they have many friends...... Good Luck

    I agree with you.

But this apply especially to guys who can speak Spanish.

Guys like me who speak zero Spanish need more time. :x

Santo Domingo is a city that is fun to flirt with girls.

I'm going to post this again, so I hope I don't sound like a broken record.
I thought I knew of most of the chica friendly hotels in Santo Domingo, but I missed probably the best one.
The name of the place is Hotel Riazor, and it's on Ave. Independencia, right behind the Jaragua.
This place is totally girl friendly, with no extra charges. Cold A/C, lots of hot water, Carpeting, very clean, and free breakfast everyday. There are quite a few rooms with balconies where you can sit and smoke a stogie while your sweetheart is vacuming your pipe! It doesn't get any better than that.
Rooms are anywhere from 55-80 bucks a night, depending on your negotiating skills.
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..

If I make it out of the airport without a chica, I usually hit spots around town and get numbers during the day so that by night I'm usually bunned-up with a honey. Between the malls, hotels, clubs, bars, gyms, restuarants, parks, malecon, beach, and referral of friends, etc., its always been a great time.
I prefer clubs and bars to meet regular easy chicks over the pro places. Can you name any good clubs and bars to meet regular chicks??? I speak good Spanish, so talking to them is not an issue. Thanks for your help.

And don't forget the free internet.... I can vouch for this place! A real good value. (809)685-5566. And definitely check out the El Conde for regular babes. Also ask around about the latest hot spots, because they change rapidly.

    Re: Santo Domingo Update

Here a list of current clubs that was given to me by a guy who lives in SD:

    - Casa de Modelo
    - Remington
    - Elapsis
    - Sutra
    - La Tareza

He said Sutra is the least expensive. I didn't try either one of them as I stick with non-pros when in SD. There are so many of them everywhere, I don't see the reason to go to a club (but Spanish helps a lot there).

I also went to the Casino in the Jaragua last week (Friday night). The place was packed with girls. Every color, every shape... I didn't talk to any of them, so I have no idea about prices.

Nice list but how about consolidating the list to the top 5 with street addresses. There is an excellent online map of Santo Domingo available so locating the top 5 would be no problem.

Oh man, and I didn't make it to either one of these places within 3 days... There are just too many girls running around in Santo Domingo... can't concentrate... have to consult with Mr. Happy next time when I go...
By the way Mr. Happy, I looked for you at Playa Vista when I was in BC. Spoke to some Norwegian guys, I guess the owner... Hope to meet you next time!

    Re: Santo Domingo Update

Cool list. I don't think I have been to La terraza or Paradise. Where are they?

Platinum? Isn't that the disco on independencia that caters to college kids? Or is there another platinum?

Went to Vice last night. Mellow night. Only 2 or 3 chicas and none were great but the beer was cold and they tried hard to make me comfortable, taking music requests etc. I'll have to check em out on the weekend.

Haven't been to executive in a long time, I wonder if D Blanca and la Sama are still open? May need to do a trip to that side of the bridge one of these days!

    I'll add:

47 - in Isabelita a block from jazzys

the old Alibi off of charles de gaulle - - - weird name I can't remember

Monaco - sleazy strip club on Malecon hit or miss, I have seen some cute chicas and then on some nights. . . .not so much

Gran mansion off of carretera mella - saturdays is supposed to be bikini day

Juniors Bar on the Malecon - went once - nothing to write home about

    Re: Santo Domingo Update

I guess someone does need to update a map with all these places, but the truth is, most of them aren't worth going to, IMHO.
Monaco is definitely hit or miss.
Juniors, I've found a couple of really nice girls there, but they NEVER last more or a day or two before they're off to one of the better places.
I think D'Blanca is gone, Sama, no idea.
    Sutra is ah, so so...
Gran Mansion is just too frigging far from my house. Christ, that's a trip in itself for me!
I was in Executive a couple of weeks ago, and nothing to write home about there either.
My point is, the main places are:
    Remingtons
    Lapsus
    Casa Teresa
    Pablitos
Girl House(now that they dropped prices)
    Sky Club (ditto)
Casa de Modelo(but I don't like that place)

Here's one for you. How many of the locals here know where GBP is?
That's the place that does not want new business. She specifically asked me not to give their address out, so I'm holding on that one, until she gives me the OK. She's scared shitless of getting closed down.

And the List Goes On and On

The list just seems to be getting longer and longer and longer. I would say most members on the board who will visit Santo Domingo will be without a car, a driver with a car, or a pocketfull of taxi money. What are the names and locations of places that are walking distance from Zona colonial?

    Re: Santo Domingo Update

I only mentioned it because it's a teaser for the locals.

As far as bars that are walking distance from the Zona Colonial, none are what I would call "walking distance" unless you really like to walk.
Closest to the Colonial Zone is Sky Club, Girl House, and Lapsus and Taboo are a little bit farther.
    Everything else is taxi material..

Thanks! So if you are without wheels the places listed are of no value unless you are willing to pay taxi money. It could get quite expensive taking a taxi from one place to another. My first SDO trip is coming up and I think I will stick with El Conde and the Malecon. Do you agree?

I will be stopping by Playa Vista the weekend of 7/7/2006. I asked around for you on my last trip in May but it seems you weren't around. I will be looking for you this trip. Brahama or Presidente is on me.
