    Remington is still closed

    Hey guys

It looks like Remington (a chica-casa in Santo Domingo) is still closed.

I passed by this place a few times at night and during the day but it was closed the whole time.

Its very sad they cant seem to get this place reopened.
This is where I had my VERY FIRST "takeout" experience in the DR some years back when it was in its heyday. The first time always leaves a very powerful impression. We had some really good times in that bar/club. They were very Pretty honest in there too, never padded our bar tab. The selection of girls was always top notch and they always had smiles on their faces. Very upbeat atosphere. I guess about 3 years ago they closed down and have not repopened since. Someone is bound to bring it back to life Im sure.

    I hear ya jd426!!!

    Allen
Allen, an American from New York who used to run Cisne (now known as The Girls House) was a very smart and successful businessman who knew how to run a chica casa.

I heard that Allen is "discreetly" running another place in the outskirts of Santo Domingo. But I have no idea.

    Mr. Williams
Mr. Williams, a Korean who used to run a chica-casa called "Casa 52". He gave all Koreans a special discount (including myself).

Mr. Williams spend some time in jail after the raid back in 2005.

To make matters worse, Mr. Williams' wife moved to Santo Domingo to be with him so he now just runs a Korean restaurant called "Seoul Garden".

Former owner of Casa de Modelos
Casa de Modelos used to be a great place until its owner (a very fat female) passed away in December of 2005.

A lot of baseball players (Sammy Sosa and Ronnie Belliard) come here often.

    Phabi
Phabi from Mona Lisa (I forgot the current name) is too laid-back and honest a person. She does not have that aggressive attitude (competitiveness) to successfully run a business. She's too honest and too nice. She's a modern citizen. But not a successful businesswoman.

    Freddy
Freddy no longer runs The Girls House. He loves to gamble. You can see him playing Roulette almost every night at the Atlantis casino (intercontinental Hotel).

    David
David (an American guy) who used to run Dyamante Spa is just a pimp-wannabe. His business did not even last three months.

So right now, not one chica-casa stands out from the competition. All of them have its ups and downs. After the raid in 2005, it has not been the same since.
