    Caribe Tours

    Hey guys

I took Caribe Tours from Sosua to Santo Domingo. There is no Metro bus station in Sosua.

    Pros
    • Departed and arrived on time
    • The temperature was just right and you can adjust it
    • The seats are comfortable

    Cons

    • They had a movie on so I had trouble trying to sleep

Bus Schedule at the station in Sosua

Lights and A/C on top of you. If you are too cold, then you can just shut it off (close that thing you see in the pic)

This bus made a stop in Santiago. I was so hungry that I just took off and took the Metro to Santo Domingo later in the day. Besides, I want to take Metro and compare the two.

He told me that the Metro station was 20 kilometers away from the airport (where he dropped you guys off).

So I just told him to drop me off at Caribe Tours in Sosua. I wanted to take this opportunity to compare both buses so it was fine with me.

Did you find the link, if so, you want a room on the River.

Thank you El Capitan for your kind words!!! I greatly appreciate it!!!

You owe me nothing. And I would love to meet up with you for food, drinks, and chicas!!!

You also provide excellent and quality information for I.S.O.C. and for that, I thank you so much!!!

Have a safe and fun trip to Jarabacoa. Make sure you bring a long sleeve shirt because it gets a bit cool at night (in Jarabacoa). But maybe you will not need it because the ladies will keep you nice and warm.

    Re: Caribe Tours

I'll be there in December and February Cheeno.....

I'm meeting my ATF, and taking her with me (she's trained) so I'll be warm. She warned me it was cool there.

I am doing some rafting, rapelling and taking her to the falls....I also want to research the Pico Duarte climb....

PM me anytime, it'll be my pleasure to meet up with you....

    Re: Caribe Tours

I thought I saw a few Metro buses running through Sosua too.

According to this site, they run to Caberette. I know there was an article on Sposuanews about them going to cabrette.

    Cool Re: Caribe Tours

    this pic is cheeno's http://www.dr1.com/forums/living/679...tml#post570542

and it shows the schedule for the Metro Bus

thanks for the pics of the schedules! most useful!

while there is no station for the Metro there is a stop, in the parking lot of the farmacia, on the autopista by the texaco station...right at calle Dr. Rosen.

you get on the bus and pay the fare to the driver, or so i understand.

when i was heading to SD last there was no metro in site so i had to get a moto to los charamicos and catch the caribe tours. unfortunately i could see it leave while i was still on the moto....so i had to wait almost 1 hour for the next one.

i'm not sure what route the metro takes but in the hour i waited for the caribe tours bus no Metro bus passed...and i was watching for it. ...i just found out that they only run every 4 or 5 hours and i was aiming for the 9:20am...oh well

Excellent. As always. I really like the way you include pictures so that nothing is left to the imagination.

Is the station in Santo Domingo close enought to the center of town to not need to rent a car, or anything. What I was thinking was an overnite, or something, from Sosua. Just something different to see a bit more of the country.

    Hello Lustfull

This thread has directions from the Hilton Hotel (Malecon) to the Metro Bus station (You only need to read up to post #3)
    http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...ad.php?t=62742

Actually, this is the official thread (How to get to the Metro Bus Station and the Acropolis Mall)
    http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...ad.php?t=63781

The Metro bus station is located next to the Acopolis Mall. By cab, it is around (depending on traffic) a 15-minute ride to the Malecon.

If you plan to visit Santo Domingo, then I recommend that you stay at least two nights. I want you to take your time and enjoy the city.

Hey prtyr2, long time no see. How've you been?

Hmmmm, that is a tough question. Its actually very hard for me to say since both has its pros and cons.

I posted a thread about the Metro bus as well.

And you are correct--there is not much of a difference.

    Take care buddy.
