A Little Infor About The Reputation Feature Please.

I remember seeing it somewhere, but now that I want to read it again, I can't find the section on the reputation bar.

I was looking at other's reputation bars and not knowing how it works.

The way most people get rep is with Thank You's. You can also receive or lose rep from the icon . It's a default feature on the board, and "sometimes" allows people to determine who might be posting more valuable info then other.

LOL. .. I don't pay enough attention to that stuff. Obviously since I have never done a fuck you or a thank you. . . and don't really pay attention when I am thanked or told fuck you. . . .

I am on other boards that have similar features but don't bother with those either.

They have recently implemented this feature on DR1 and some guys are getting really worked up about it.

We don't take it so seriously here otherwise Hempstead and I would both want to top ourselves for having the same "rep".

Sorry to be a pest, but you didn't say how the colors work. I figured out that black means that you turned the feature off, but what's the difference between the shades of green?

Don't trash me on this--but just a point in language please. There is a line that says " XXXXX has a reputation beyond repute". I believe it should correctly read "a reputation beyond reproach". You can't have a reputation beyond repute.

    Why not?

Main Entry: repute Function: noun Date: 1539 1 : the character or status commonly ascribed to one
2 : the state of being favorably known, spoken of, or esteemed

I would say #2 applies. I realize if you apply definition #1 then you are saying "has a rep. beyond rep." but with def. #2 you are saying "has a rep. beyond being favorably known or esteemed".

Beyond being favorably known? OK, but it is a stretch. Beyond reproach would mean that you would not question one's reputation.

Or you could say " a reputation beyond dispute".

Or you could just leave it alone and forget that I mentioned it.

Don't back down, patrk39! You are my kind of pedantic, logical, lexicographically nitpicking monger. (But I guess you would not be flattered by being in my club!)

Re: A Little Infor About The Reputation Feature Please.

LOL I didn't even know that! Just turned mine on and ditched the whacky avatar. Ajax would always goof on my simpsons avatar asking if I was the guy with that Avatar. I never picked one so jimmy or DT gave me that one and I finally ditched it. . . . .lol. .

I never noticed the clored bars and when this thread started saw that mine was black and just figured my reputation sucked! lol. Still way too much work for me to pay attention to it.

Ha! LMAO. I'm happy to be in your company.

As for me asking for a correction...I don't want anyone who may stray onto this board to get the idea that we ISOCers are a bunch of buffoons. As you know, there are some very intelligent and eloquent people on this board, who just happen to like cheap, nasty, no-holds barred sex with virtual strangers.

It is up to us nitpickers to keep our brethren pointed in the right lexicological direction.

U no wat i"m tawkin abowt?

Cheers, mate. And Merry Christmas to all.
