This new version is a fucking pain in the ass, there are permissions on top of permissions, on top of more fucking permissions!
We had an issue with Robert13212's pictures not being visible in posts. First I will go over how things are set and then what not to do.
There are two types of Albums: Public & Private. Self explanatory I would say.
All Registered users can see any PUBLIC Albums. Guests (not logged in), Waiting to be Approved Users, & Banned Users cannot see them.
As for PRIVATE Albums only Admins, Super Mods, and Your Friends can see the pictures in those Albums.
Now those settings make perfect sense. If you don't want your pics viewable by all make the album Private!
With our board when the Album feature was released I made a Plug-In so users could post a picture(s) stored in a PRIVATE Album in a thread and that picture(s) would be visible even if the user reading the thread couldn't see that person's whole Private Album. The permission is based on if the user can read the thread, if so then they can see the picture, makes sense right.
With this Plug-In I could have a Private Album with many pictures in it but share them in different spots, BOD vs Friend's & Family.
Well vBulletin 4 broke that shit too with a little know Privacy policy Robert had setup.
In Profile Privacy:
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...php?do=privacy You can limit ALL of your albums to just Registered Users, just Friends, or just Contacts, or to Everyone. Now first of all it's stupid since Friends & Contacts are one in the same but I didn't write this software. But when you set it different from Everyone you break my Plug-In!
So to make a long story short, don't fuck with the Privacy Settings! Basically all Logged-In Registered Users can see your Profile page, and that's not a big deal. Sure they can see your Friends, Public Albums, etc but again no big deal.
If you want to keep your Pics private just make the album PRIVATE! Then only the
pictures you chose to share by posting in threads will be seen, unless of course
you invite someone to be your friend.
