I've been all over the Caribbean and as far East as Malaysia but from all the forums, it sure sounds like DR is the mongers paradise.

Need advice. I'm due to depart LAX on a Monday and touch down on a Tuesday. Thinking of paying the $150 to change my ticket to arrive on Sunday. Is it worth it for slow days like Sun/Mon?

But For me it would definately be worth it for the " SUNDAY AT THE BEACH DAY ",,,,,,,

It is by far the best day to hit the beach,,,,,and most crowded,,,,,,,,,,

No, it isn't any sort of paradise for mongers or for anyone else (except the very rich who could create paradise for themselves in Afghanistan or Antarctica). If you set your expectations too high you will be disappointed.

What it is, for guys who come with a sensible game-plan (and subscribing to, and reading, the Trip Reports here will help with that) is a lowish-budget value-for-money place to get laid and have fun with like-minded guys.

We have plenty here who post how Brazil, Colombia, SE Asia, and other places are so much better (really "paradise") yet they keep coming back to the DR. The reasons are value for money and convenience, not outstanding quality.

Damn X, I know how much you like the beach but $150 for one day at the beach sounds too much for me, even if it is a sunday.
