Live365 has a station right from Sosua, listen to that all the time
Wherever I May Roam
And the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her I do confide
And she keeps me satisfied
Gives me all I need
And with dust in throat I crave
Only knowledge will I save
To the game you stay a slave
Roamer, wanderer
Nomad, vagabond
Call me what you will
But I'll take my time anywhere
Free to speak my mind anywhere
And I'll redefine anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home

Wow! great link!
I had never liked any Latin music before my recent first visit to DR. Then Katiusca of BB took me to Cabarete for an outing. Sitting in a beach cafe she started weeping (and she is one of the older and more hard-boiled whores there). I asked her what was wrong. She said because the music was so beautiful and so meaningful. I had not even noticed it except that it was inoffensive and had not drowned out our stuttering conversation. She said it was bachata and told me a little about its origins. Anyway, after that I listened out for bachata and became hooked. The only way I can survive cold turkey back in freezing England planning my next trip is to play my dozen bachata CDs from Amazon over and over to my wife's great annoyance. To be honest, the only tracks which bear much repetition are from Zacharias Ferreira, Raulin Rodrigues, Frank Reyes, and a few other tracks so this link gives me a great chance to sample before buying. Thanks!
By the way, I still only like bachata. Merengue, salsa, reggaeton etc. still leave me cold. Perhaps I need to find more weeping putas next trip to turn me on to them?
Yes, putas have feelings, too!
Here is the exact moment of my pauline conversion captured for all time on camera. You can just see the tears welling up. Plus a photo taken a few minutes earlier before the music got to her. Although a little older and of heavier build Katiusca is actually a lot more attractive than my picture suggests. I have the photographic skills to make Angelina Jolie look like Boris Karloff.
