It appears that someone burned down Jolly Roger overnight/morning. The bar was not my cup of tea but it was very popular with the expats. Real Shame.

Holy shit, you serious ? damnnn .. Sorry to hear that. Any neighboring business also effected ? that looks like quite an Inferno..
not to be funny, but did they ever figure out how to use that Fire Truck HOSE ? thats one of the donated fire trucks as I recall ?
The owners of the Jolly Roger had alot, I repeat ALOT of enemies in Sosua
They are not very well liked up and down Pedro Clisante as well.
No one deserves this though.
This location has been around for a long time in Sosua.
Back in the day, way before Jolly Rogers, I understand this was one of the main pick up joints in the old days of Sosua.
yea the place is gutted. Its totally destroyed.. No more Bingo
En una tierra de mujeres hermosas, Yo soy El Rey
Maybe the title of this thread should have been; Someone, or Something caused Jolly Rodgers to burn down. And yes JudgeSmails, two trucks from Charamicos attended the fire within minutes of being called.
I dont know the question, but sex is definitely the answer.
****RUMOR****
The reason I named it "someone". I heard that a guy was kicked out for molesting one of the waitresses that worked there. He was then heard around town saying he was going to torch the place. I heard from another source that he actually was trying to recruit someone to do it for him. I also heard the security camera picked up a Molotov cocktail entering the bar.
Like I said, this is what I heard on the street. The street here is sometimes very unreliable. We will see.
I walked by earlier...the place is very dark and blackened. A few people were inside having a beer. The smell of smoke is thick in the area.
I believe they are Canadian if I'm not mistaken. I remember a widebody gentleman strolling around town with the Jolly Roger golf cart when I was in town. Those stupid street kids who walk up and down PC kept trying to jump on. He eventually stopped and started kicking them one by one until they ran away.
I've never had a drink there as the crowd looked above my age bracket.
Big shame, no one deserves this.
I was in there the night before catching a hockey game..... one less place to watch hockey
Just another monger!!
BBCode
Rumor is that a Dominican guy and a Canadian guy got arrested and are in jail in Puerto Plata. I know nothing....nothing....
A few photos of the destruction....
