I have heard so much about Thailand, that I have got to get there one day.

Over how many days?
I did it Pattaya (10 days) + Phuket (6 days) + Bangkok (5 days)

It's not exactly going to be a whirlwind trip, save for the first couple of days in Bangkok while I'm re-setting my inner clock.

Arriving BKK Dec 2nd near midnight. Two days there.

Flying to Siem Reap before lunchtime Monday, Dec 5th. 3 1/2 days of sightseeing - this is a Bucket List destination.

Return to BKK Friday Morning, Dec 9th, then fly on to Phuket. Stay there 7 nights, with 5 days of diving and one day to off-gas ...

Fly back to BKK Dec 16 and grab a cab or a bus to Pattaya. Staying 6 nights, then an oh-dark-thirty cab ride to BKK to catch my flight home Dec 22nd.

That's a good itinerary. I thought about adding Siem Reap, then decided it made more sense to do Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in a 2nd trip at a later date.
