Yeagh, well now they talking about a Possible SECOND shooter???
that aint by some coincidence then, or some lone " nut job" ...
if its true, that sounds like a lot more .
Supposedly he got on the ground and waited for Police to arrive after he ran out of AMMO ??
WTF ??? is this ...
that is just Bizzare .
now they saying no 2nd shooter ..
you Have to start to question the security we have at our airports as opposed to others in this world.
I travel in and out of FLL all the time and I can't remember EVER seeing a sheriff or cop or whatever in the baggage rerival area.
Plenty of 2 0r 300 lb TSA workers though who couldn't get out of their own way let alone help anyone. Any way they are upstairs so no help at all. And if you even think about them helping you better have your fucking running shoes on.
I've been through that baggage terminal numerous times in the last 2 years as it handles Air Canada arrivals. It is wide the fuck open since all the flights that arrive are treated as domestic (US CBP Preclearence in Canada). The thing is...no security in the world would have prevented this. He brought the handgun in his checked luggage, which is permitted. He simply took his luggage and headed to the bathroom and loaded his gun.
It's another military veteran who suffers from a mental illness/episode, that probably was exacerbated during his deployment and now he comes back home untreated and military-trained. It's a touchy subject because I get the impression that just like the dallas cop shooter (who was ex-military), nobody wants to address the fact that soliders are coming back fucked up (physically and mentally) and its not being addressed.
My fear is the security fall-out from events like this one. More security means less privacy and more hassles at the airport.
Blue Devil
One can NEVER stop a Crazy person , not 100% of the time
.. .Crazy is Crazy, and they will do some SHIT before you can take them down...
ANYONE can bring a gun into Times Square in like a guitar case and cause damage before those Guys who are suited up will take them down..
Even Israel, where EVERYONE is ARMED to the Teeth, they have incidents ..like they just had with the Truck guy running into Soldiers..before being taken out .
This is what people who just want to Preach PRO Gun, AND NO GUN on both extreme sides cant understand ..
More guns , if by Cops or Civilians, wont stop the Crazies..
and LESS Guns Certainly wont either ..
There is no simple solution to this ...but of course people who dont know SHIT always got ALL the Answers , even when Experts cant quite figure it out all the time..
Look, the Feds returned this Guys weapon, knowing he had mental issues.. Yeagh thats a fucking problem, especially when our Lawmaker Fuck nuts want MORE Gun Laws,.like its the magic Pill...
Why not really step up Security or have at least one guy there at Baggage .
Here is a fucking Idea... Dont they even know WHO had the Checked Luggage with the Guns ? ( i would not mind, if I was like going Hunting in Montana)
ESCORT the mother fucker out the Airport.. but again, even if you did that what is to stop him when he gets to his Car ?
Personally I find it kind of odd anyway, that this Checked Luggage with a weapon is allowed to go around the Carousel where anyone could really grab it, if they know.
But Again, you cant stop crazy
The FBI has proven it OVER AND OVER.. by setting these Lunatics FREE.
They did it in San Bernardino, they did with the Nightclub Shooter in Orlando, and now they did it with this guy.
that is one Hell of a Track record ..
I think what they are going to try for . ( listening to that mop head Wasserwoman speaking ) is to BAN all Transport of Guns on Planes , period..That seems to be their " solution".
The guy loaded his handgun in the washroom, tucked it, proceeded to leave the luggage area, then suddenly pulled it and started shooting.
You can ban checked in firearms, impose a high fee for such travel, ban ammo travelling, let those travellers to collect such luggage in a special area.
Lately, a Canadian veteran shot his mother, wife and daughter and committed suicide.
5% of all deployed veterans commit suicide.
In my view, the issue is social in nature. One may be traumatized or crazy, however it does not mean that individual has to shoot someone.
In the short term laws may be amended to accommodate numerous situations. One example, in Canada a gun owner cannot temporarily turn his weapons to police for storage, as police can only destroy the weapon.
‘Forbear to judge, for we are sinners all’
Again....those whom
join ALL( or if not they should have) read and sign the contract.
What? Do we think the "you could get killed" and the " maybe you may see disturbing things while in a war zone" parts are in so fine a print no one can read it?
If they had armed security maybe, just maybe, not as many would be killed or injured before these fucks would be as dead as they should be.
I'm not dismissing the possible mental effect of fighting in a war zone, but no matter how fucked up you are we can't just allow you to randomly take lives.
There have been numerous cases where these Guys returning from WAR, and not " debriefed" or whatever the Terminology is ( you guys who were in the service can elaborate on that )
HAVE taken out their Wives and even whole Family... and of course Friends who they have known all their lives as well, over probably some stupid shit like talking trash over some Football game or whatnot.
So , not gonna play Psychiatrist , but if they willing to do that , these guys are dangerous ticking time Bombs and someone needs to pay attention and take the time to try to FIX them..
WE sent them to WAR,, its OUR Responsibility to FIX whatever the F is wrong with them.. Physically and mentally..
that , we could all agree is something Our Elected officials need to strongly look at ..
Remember the Famous Sniper Chris Kyle ? who got take out at the shooting Range , by a guy he tried to HELP through it by being his Buddy so to speak
the man took it upon himself to befriend a guy with PTSD, but he did not have the Skills or tools to handle such a person.
..
These guys are dangerous . extremely so.
The airport baggage area is like 99.99% of the country. There are no
armed guards to stop them. Only police which will take too long to
get there and that can't deter someone who is willing to die or go to
jail. This guy could have done the same thing at a grocery store,
night club, church, etc. Anywhere where people congregate. The only
advantage of the baggage area is the people getting off the plane
are usually unarmed.
