you only live once, but if you live it right once is enough
Headed back too, but not 'til November!
When I was in Sosua in late June and early July, it was noticed, even with it being low season, of all the Canadians not there. I walked past the Checkpoint several times on my way to the Flip Flop or to the beach and not one time did I ever see more than 3 customers. Place was dead. Jolly Roger had their year round regulars from Canada but still, it was a much lighter crowd than I remember before the Covid bs.
I'm hoping all the Canucks who have been stuck at home this past winter and all this year can really give that beach town a nice economic shot in the arm, those businesses really miss you guys. Only a month in a half until November, I'm sure you'll have a pocketful of pesos to spend on whatever comes to mind.
Hope you have a blast!
I'm not discouraging anyone from coming to Sosua but since Covid hit many moons ago I have only known one guy that had contracted it here in Sosua,in the last few weeks I know of seven,I contracted covid myself last week and I can tell you this shit is no joke.I am no expert but it seems like Sosua is becoming a hot zone.
Going to sosua October 2nd.. will let you know if theres anything going on.
We don't catch feelings, we catch flights.
This is from a video I made when I saw the Dominican Jack Sparrow. See that old guy who some here have seen around, probably in his 80s, no mask, walking miracle between people with no fear. Ohhh, but it's sooo dangerous. LOL
I've now been there 8 or 9 times since the pandemic began. In Aug/early Sept. I was there 9 days, must have fucked over 20 chicas just this trip, went to a "teteo" outside party at night in Montellano, must have been over 100 people there. Still have yet to see any actual evidence of any pandemic.
Have any of you that are minimalzing this virus actually had it or lost loved ones? I lost my father,my ex wife and now I have it and it is a horrible experience...
before it was a thing;
i caught it in feb 2020 ( got it in the phillippines and was infected on the plane and when i got home so i was a super spreader)
i was sicker than i have been in my life........... i dont get sick
i infected most of my employees and family
my 85 year old mom who will out live everyone (never sick a day in her life either ) went to the hospitol for 1 night
my 39 year old office manager with lots of under lying health issues went to the hospitol for 4 nights
other wise it was basically just a severe flu/cold and then the politicians and money makers got involved and shut down the world
lots of people die WITH covid not from covid
no one i know actually died from covid and i have three grand daughters that are nurses and they say the same thing
I know around 2 dozen people who tested positive, whatever that may mean, only know of 1 who was hospitalized and died, but he had several health problems, and I actually find the way it went very suspect. My mom in her 70s was sick with flu symptoms last winter, I moved her into my house when the pandemic started, I took care of her for about a week, she didn't want to go get tested or see a doctor, she didn't seem too bad, she claims it was covid, but I suspect she was faking the severaty since before I had hinted at her going back to living on her own. LOL.
I'm not one who minimizes the virus at all because I had it and although it wasn't a pleasant experience, It was not too bad for me personally. I had a low grade fever for about 10 days straight and a high fever for a couple of days. leg cramps and very tired. also had some difficulty catching my breath near the end of it and that persisted for a while. Theres no runny nose or sneezing or anything like a cold. Being in sosua when i had it, I noticed that I had great difficulty cumming at the end of it and for about 3 weeks afterwards (seriously).
My bosses brother died from it. my friends father had to be hospitalized after the whole house got it and for a while they didn't think he was going to make it but he did. two households of cousins of mine got it at the same time after their father died and they were all gathering for the wake and arrangements. It's definitely a real thing and its out there.
I believe I had it in December 2019 in the Philippines also. So fucking sick. I remember the night nurse holding me and comforting me. She was also scared for me.
I think and very much so, that it was because Angeles was overrun with Chinese while the SE Asian games was there.
If a friend hadn't showed me a doctor who had graduated medical school in the states at Harvard I believe I could have died without his help.
2 other doctors treated me with no positive outcome.
