I bought an Orange SIM card for 200 pesos and put it in my unlocked Sony phone.
Worked great and made several calls and a couple to Canada and still had plenty of credit left at the end of the week.

I've had a Claro phone for a little less than a year now. Never failed me. To be fair I have never venture nowhere beyond the Clisante city limit neither so don't know about reception out there.

I bought it from the hotel SeaBreeze shop for 350 pesos with few pesos in it. FYIs

Just booked my trip. Third trip in two months.... Damn... Friday to Thursday.
Friday - Monday Terra Linda. Monday -Thursday at BB's.

I'll be at Big D's,Jungle Juice and the Black Box during the afternoon.

How much time did it come with, or is that just the phone?

It came with 100 pesos credit INCLUDED for the 450 pesos. I have NEVER had a problem with Orange but have heard people having trouble with BOTH Orange and Claro at times. Maybe just isolated problems having more to do with the CHEAP phones than the cell service provider.

Well gents.....just finished packing my bag (1 carry on) A quick stop at Walgreens for some raincoats tomorrow and then on to SFO. Can't wait to get on that AA 979 connection out of Miami. And when the pilot comes on the intercom to announce, "Flight attendants, prepare for landing," I just get all warm and fuzzy inside. "Get back, touch myself, good gawwwwd ya'll."

Looking forward to meeting some of you jokers when I'm on the ground.
