Thumbs Down Last Minute Hotel Recomendations

    Hello all,

I booked a last minute flight on a whim (found myself with some time to kill).

I arrive tomorrow but the New Garden was booked.

I would like to stay close to it as I understand it's a great location.

Can someone recommend a similar hotel close by that might have a room tomorrow?

Also, would it be advisable to get a cab at the airport and tell them to drop me off at the New Garden, then just walk to nearby hotels.

I've never been to Sosua and I'm not sure if it's cool to be walking around with my carry on and backpack like I'm lost. Is that safe?

    Thanks in advance...

Edit: I don't speak Spanish except for a few words I picked up living in Texas (Although I think I can still say "Come to my house tonight and bring the baby oil" <-- former girlfriend taught me )

That is a very good question. The answer is, its 100% safe to walk around like this. (Except at 3 or 4 in the morning)

Terra Linda less than a half a block on the same side of street ( has a sign ) right down from that is Rocky's. That's just two that are real close to New Garden. Just tell the taxi the hotel you are staying at and they will drop you off at the front door.

If you want nice, try Terra Linda $69. For budget Don Antonio $35 or Rockys $25. Prices are approximate. You can google any of them for their websites. Good luck and have fun.

Look in the very section you posted your question. You will find what you seek, for I'm fairly certain no new hotels have been built in the past week. Ah screw it...for starters you have Terra Linda, Casa Cayena, Sea Breeze, Don Antonio, and Rocky's a short distance from New Garden.

What? And leave and electronic trail! Are you nuts!

I'll tell stories over a beer when I'm there. I've been to LOS 4 times, the last time was for 3 months.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already did that. The only problem is vacation destinations change rapidly as the number of visitors increases during high season. I thought it would be better to get the current scoop from those on the ground.

It must be a Holloween thing the town was pretty dead when I left Wed.I know Tues is a slow night but when you see less than 10 people in Elflow at 10 pm thats pretty bad the I would think you could get a room pretty much anywhere.New Garden can thank ISOC.Oh yeah and the Chicas that hang out around there also.

yes, just make sure your chica has a cedula or you have to pay security to let her in.

Only part of it unless you book the All Inclusive for a couple and stay the whole week with the same girl.

They have a seperate entrance for the chica friendly part near the casino kind of like a tunnel or hallway. When they showed me I think the chica friendly part gets breakfast. At that time you didn't get the other meals or the drinks included of course.

But that is info from last winter I would email them if that is where you want to stay. There Winter prices are higher than summer on their website if you take a look.
