That is an excellent observation that many of us have discovered to be a great deal. I hope those rates remain the same for the whole year and don't get raised like NG raising their old rooms from $50 to $55 recently.
The Jacuzzi a D'Piero really sweetens the deal for me too.

when was your room broken into joey?? recent like in after the cameras and other security upgrades were made??
No i think my situation was another reason the upgrades were done.It was in mid-late september ,my last night of the trip thats just my luck
Im curious if i try to book this summer if lorenzo will do right by me after my situation. My losses were easily double my cost of what i payed to stay at NG.
Sosua cabs can serve their purpose.
Let's say you're booked at a hotel that isn't a 2 minute walk from the disco. At night, motos are 50 pesos a head. If you and your wingman each have a girl, that's 200 pesos total, what a cab ride anywhere in Sosua costs and the same amount you'd give to 2 motos, only you get a comfortable cab ride rather than a moto. If it's you and 2 wingmen (like it was for me this past trip), that would be 300 pesos total for 3 motos, so we'd always grab a cab and six of us would get a nice ride back for 100 pesos less than motos would cost.
Bitch you wasn't with me shootin' in the gym ...
I hate the motos I alway do the cab at night
Sure they can but they have not for me. Glad they worked out for you guys. I prefer to walk in the day and moto at night as required.I generally don't hang with a consistent group to share with and so far have chosen not to stay further away than the Palms/Tradewinds condos i.e. less than a 15 minute walk and would now choose to be as close as possible to Pedro Clisante and Dr. Rosen.
It's good to have options though.
Where do you get you cabs from and how?
When you can think of yesterday without regret and tomorrow without fear, you are near contentment.
Your opinions are not my problem...
The cab stand is in font of the new casino and across the street from the disco the security guy at the hotel would call one if we needed it
Aren't there different types and each has it's own pricing structure? Which are the tourist ones and which are the regular ones and what's the difference?
In6, make that 7 years of going to and living in the DR I have used a taxi less than 10 times in Sosua, probably less than 5 times, and excepting you and Juan I don't recall any/many other guys even asking about them except for a ride to or from the airport.I know where the cabs and how I'd go about getting what I wanted but but in my experience most guys do not know where to go to get a cheap, non-tourist cab...or what the proper price should be.
I had a good experience there however I heard that Wilfred is no longer there.. I'm going with some friends in June.. I'll let everyone know how it goes..
I always take a taxi. I will NEVER ride on a moto. It is too dangerous.
I'm still waiting for the info on the different types of taxis and the various pricing structures in Sosua. If they're such a great deal and so easy to find I'm sure many here could benefit...if that info was shared.
I prefer to walk for the most part but will ride a moto occasionally. Generally they're safe IMO at least in Sosua. Not for longer trips and less safe in busier and larger towns and cities, where of course taxis and publicos are easy and relatively cheap.
I remain unconvinced about taxis in Sosua but am willing to be enlightened.
200 peso thats the price one or six occupants
what the hell is going on in NG, i was there back in Jan and Wilfried was still around.
Yes the dont want their hair wet, but NO, they really are afraid of the deep water. Once their feet are no longer touching sand , they freak out. Noone ( like a DADDY) ever showed them how . Its really sad.
They dont have SWIM school like we do here, my 6 yo nephew swims like a fish and jumps off the dive board like a champ, the 4 yo is learning this year... thes kids dont have anyone spending time with them like that. they only go to the beach on sundays and have you EVER seen a Dominican daddy teaching his kid how to swim ? I saw ONE, at the Jaragua in SD. and he was a businessman who spoke english better than most NY'ers ,German fluently, his wife was German and his kids spoke all 3 languages . Educated people.
