PLD presidential candidate Danilo Medina presented his campaign team yesterday. The team, which will be coordinated by leading PLD member and Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garcia, is composed of six deputy coordinators, each one in charge of a specific region: The north will be under the care of Bautista Rojas Gomez, the east will be Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal's territory, the south belongs to Ruben Bichara, the metropolitan region is the responsibility of Felix (Felucho) Jimenez, the province of Santo Domingo is for Cristina Lizardo, and the National District is for Roberto Salcedo. The team was presented during a press conference at the PLD Presidential House in Santo Domingo's University Zone, in the presence of most PLD Political Committee members.

Upon being questioned as to the results of the Gallup-Hoy poll, that places Medina at a 14.5-point disadvantage against PRD candidate Hipolito Mejia, Medina said that it was just "one more poll," and that in the latest internal surveys, the results "are totally different from this."

"You will see a lot of polls during the next nine months, some will probably be right, others close to the reality and others probably far from the reality." The Gallup-Hoy poll, published on Monday, gives Mejia a 14.5% advantage with a 47.9% preference among voters, against the 33.4% for Medina.
