I'm still "Just A Lurker."
The Chinese virus infected the Western world with Chinese-style totalitarian politics. - Gladiator
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. – H. L. Mencken
for the casual lurkers and searchers its likely fine the way it is but for the guys that sign in everyday or close to it and read almost every post 21 days would be better for us.......................me any way
ya ya ya I do have a life but I also like to make isoc a part of it
you only live once, but if you live it right once is enough
I added an extreme option "Example TP", of course I would rename it properly if we decide to go that route.
Hunter posted a GREAT hack for this in his "DT - Active Topics" thread. I quote - with a hot-link:
news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/search.php?do=getdaily&days=7&exclude=629,630,631,632,633,634,635,636,637,638,639,640,641,741,864&contenttype=vBForum_Post
Hit that link and you'll get a list of the active topics for the last seven days. Bookmark it, and you'll have "Active Topics" at your fingertips.
The key is that direction, "&days=7" ... you could change it to "&days=3" or "&days=30," or whatever you like.
I've saved it to my bookmarks list, and put it right below my "ISOC" bookmark.
Thanks, Hunter -- that's great stuff!!!
This is odd ... Since you added that "Example TP" button, I've lost the second-line menu. It comes up when I hit my own 7-day search bookmark, but it disappears when I go to any other page ... (Outlook on Windows 7)
Could it be caused by having "too many buttons?"
definitely more than 3...7 about right...
though for some guys 14 might be good....
Works fine now -- Thanks!
As for "Example TP", a better label might be "Recent Posts" -- with the drop-down menu:
Today's Posts
Last 3 Days
Last 7 Days
Last 14 Days
Last 21 Days
Last 30 Days
You've already got it working -- that's the important part, and it works like a charm!
what hunter doesn't know how to use the search???
