Anyone noticed Spirit jacked up fares from LGA? Even with the $9 fare membership savings is not much.. Still cheaper than other airlines though.

Kinda looks like they jacked up the rates all the way around so they can push the $9 fare membership crap on us. When you figure in paying for luggage, a seat etc there really isn't much of a savings.

Though it's great for the guys that want to travel with just a knapsack and don't care where they sit on the planes. To me it doesn't do much for me when I'm on vacation just showing up with a toothbrush and a couple pieces of clothing. You ony get so many of those vacations in a lifetime, so why deal with that chit to save a couple dollars.

I guess Iv'e been lucky with Spirit... Only had a slight delay on one leg one time.

Flying essentaily first class for $380.00 from ATL and back is a hell of a deal.
So I eat before I get on the plane and carry my water..

Always fit everything I need in a carry on.

I get to MDE before 3pm so have plenty of time the day I get there and don't have to wake up early to leave... love it.

Don't see a better alternative.. not even close.

good place for country women...the only catch i can see is that you get a cert for 5000 miles, but have to use it within 45 day's..

As with every where else in South Florida,"will the last one leaving please bring the American flag" Nothing but illegals as again..every where else in S.FL.

But anyway......thanks Joey....I got the e-mail and saw the conditions of the 5000 cert.and decided the only way I'll go is if Swoop Joey Joe wants to try and get the 5000.

"I recently was talking to spirit airlines personel that flys to medellin from fort lauderdale florida to medellin and was informed that they have cancelled the tuesday and the saturday direct flights to medellin,and was informed by them that spirit might cancel more flights due to cut backs.and this could result in less flights available for medellin and drive up prices,even though they informed me that all the flights from fort lauderdale to medellin are always booked full every day on every flight."

I just checked the Spirit website and they had no flights going to Medellin on a Saturday in April or May.

They use to fly into Montego Bay daily and now the have cut back to 4 days a week.

Right now Saturdays from FLL are all available, even some $144 rates...sometimes they block out dates I've seen it before....the tues and sat return flights are not available on the calendar until September...maybe they'll come back?

They want 685 to medellin in June from the New Niagara falls route. Pretty high, but less than everyone else, Copa wants me to fly through 3 airports to get here for $200 more.
