Yeah L,,,,,,,I booked it last week.

I had my choice of American ,,or Continental,,,, as Jetblue has gone and fucked up the Boston to Puerto Plata run.

Both American and Continental came to about $348 before taxes ,,,$482 after taxes.

I went with Continental because I have had better luck with them,,and I had more points with them. And I got pissed at American on the way home last year when the made me check my carry on on the way home.

I couldnt figure out why I couldnt get a roundtrip flight with Jetblue, so i called them.
The woman says oh, you need to book 4 seperate ONE WAY FLIGHTS for that itinerary.
and of course no flights from Boston leave early enough on the same day to JFK to be able to catch the flight to POP.

Oh Yeah,,, my $482 flight on continental is now priced at $589 when I just checked there website. Crazy how this changes.

I just wish I had the 975,000 miles or points that the sterr man has !!!

I understand that paying with a CC is advantageous at times however, we are strictly a cash business and do not accept CC at all.

Sorry Joey but that is the way the previous owner set things up and I agree with his reasons. Let me know if there is a way we can work with you. You know I'll do what I can to make it easy for you during your stay.

Thanks Trey,,,,,,I think my heat tolerence may be a little less than yours though,, as I see in most of your reports that sometimes you have long sleeve shirts on at night with jeans. If I ever wore that out I would collapse in a pool of sweat.
Unfortunately,, I start sweating the moment I get off the plane.

My A/C is set on 28 Celsius. That's 83 degrees.

I actually sweat more in Sept in the jeans and long sleaves, than I did in July. Of course, the extra ten lbs that I picked up didn't help!

Of all the different months that I have been in the DR ,, January to me has been the best.

Each time has been almost 90% nice. ! Last Year it rained when I landed,, and then hardly any clouds the rest of the way !!

I was in Boston once back in the eighties. As it turned out, it was the coldest night of the year.

People were getting burns on their face just being outside in the wind! Fuck that.

Wow,, You nailed it Mr. Happy,,,,,,,That restaurant is still around , but does nowhere near the amount of business it used to,, just not as good as it used to be. It's so weird you said that,, because that is the town that I grew up in., and my first job was being a barback in that restaurant back in 1981. Back then if you went there on a Thursday,,Friday,,or saturday night,, you would no doubt have a minimum of a two hour wait for a table........And nobody didnt wait,,,everyone stayed.

X it would be the same with just about any apt or condo you rent in the DR. Those that are fortunate enough to even have a/c (not a given in the bigger cities), will only have it in the bedrooms. And sometimes only the master bdrm if there's more than one. There will almost never be an a/c unit in the shared living areas.

There will generally be ceiling fans...........

That is how it is at Residence D'Piero. A/C in the bedrooms, fan in the common area.

Tiger: i am hoping to make it down there in Jan. Been trying to get Sacase to work on booking something but he is still trying to get his work schedule in order to travel. Our boy " happy hour" is still out here in my area. He is currently trying to save up to make another trip. He did not join the board..
