US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is visiting the Dominican Republic to attend the VI Meeting of Ministers of Justice and Attorney Generals of the Americas that is taking place in Santo Domingo from 24-29 April. Thirty-four nations are participating in the event, which is sponsored by the Organization of American States.
Vice President Rafael Alburquerque opened the session at the auditorium of the Supreme Court of Justice. He called for action at regional level to eradicate international crime. The meeting could bring about agreements that strengthen hemispheric judicial cooperation. The OAS is represented by Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin.
