A hospital in Sosúa

For years the inhabitants and tourists in Sosúa have been complaining about the fact there still isn't a good hospital in the Cabarete/Sosúa area. The sick and wounded have to be transported to the Bournigal Hospital in Puerto Plata. For victims of traffic accidents, this 30-kilometre trip to Puerto Plata can be fatal.
But the Leonel Fernández government has now announced that it has allocated a large amount of money from next year's budget, to build a hospital in Sosúa. They are still looking for a suitable location for the hospital.



This would be a good thing, but I just wonder if its because they will be expecting alot more tourists in the future???

There is about 40,000 there now. Most areas with 100,000 have hospitals. If they start next year, it might get finished.

Let's hope they start on this almost as fast as they started on the Metro in the capital. That Metro was rushed through so fast everyone (politicians) must be in on it.
