President Leonel Fernandez was in Puerto Plata yesterday to inaugurate the RD$300 million 672-apartment Villa Liberacion complex. The beneficiaries were relocated from El Tablon, an area that polluted sections adjacent to Sosua Beach and affected the development of tourism projects. President Fernandez announced at the inaugural, that the beneficiaries would not have to make any payments for the apartments. As reported in Hoy, project builder, engineer Rafael Silverio Galan called the new complex transcendental for the sustainable growth of the north coast tourism area.
