Today, the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) Criminal Chamber will debate an abrogation recourse against a ruling by the National District Court of Appeals Criminal Chamber that acquitted ten defendants involved in the Plan Renove case. The defendants had been convicted in the Court of First Instance by Judge Esther Agelan Casasnovas on 17 October 2005 but that ruling was revoked by the Court of Appeals on 6 March. The defendants in this case are Pedro Franco Badia, Fabio Ruiz, Antonio Marte, Milciades Amaro, Blas Peralta, Antonio Perez, Freddy Williams Mendez, Alfredo Pulinario Linares (Cambita), Gervasio de la Rosa, and Paulino Antonio Reynoso (Father Tono).
