If anyone finds out about tix before I do, please PM me. This will be a lot cheaper than flying down to Miami next weekend !!

I believe that for the show in SD, tix were ~$65 USD (2000 pesos) and VIP tix were $200 USD (VIP seats and meet the band). Pretty expensive for the DR. Maybe a more accurate guage is the 5/17 Miami show. Ticketmaster is showing $65 & $85 before all the extra fees. Of course, eBay and sites like StubHub will charge a premium. Thnx for making this thread a sticky. When I know something, I'll post. If anyone wants to meet up before or after in NYC (8/22 show), feel free to post.

If I survive 3some's Boat Excursion I will be going 8/22 !!

Yeah, that was before they "blew up", played the infamous Garden show in 2006, became the "Kings Of Bachata" and became muy popular, I guess ...

Still, it will be cheaper than flying to Miami or SD.

You are looking at at least $75 a pop for the blues (for those not old enough to know what the blues are - they are the top level in the Garden) once they add on all the BS fees. They sold out the Garden back in September and they will probably do the same for both shows.

My suggestion is to be patient...check out some Latin music sites and if they are in town they may be doing other shows in smaller venues like some places in the Heights, the Bronx and at Amazura in Queens which is where I saw them this past November. That ticket was not cheap by DR standards - $50 - but it is a great atmosphere being so close to the stage and dancing right there.

On another note - Zacarias is back in town in mid May and doing a bunch of shows all over.

I saw Aventura 3 summers ago in Santo Domingo at LA Fortaleza. Price of ticket was 1000 pesos. I have never experienced being around so many hot girls in my life. Most of the crowd was girls screaming. Even if you are not a fan of Aventura, going to one of their concerts in DR is a must if even just to see all the hot girls. I don't know about how their concerts state side are though

It would probably be best to see them in the DR and in a standing-room only environment - and I hope to do that sometime as well !!

Tickets just went on sale for the 8/21 show. This show features Marc Anthony, Alejandro Fernandez & Aventura - It's not just Aventura alone.

http://www.thegarden.com/tickets/promotion.html?p_id=HEMARC&s8055c2668549o55439t8081n35043e

There's a presale right now - if interested, try code HEMARC

I would rather see a show with only Aventura. Their site still shows a 8/22 MSG show - so tickets will probably go on sale for that one later. That's the one I can make. An organization known as ING is involved.

Tickets $49.50 - $256.50 before all the additional charges (OUCH !! :surprised:)

This is another great opportunity for getting laid. If you can't find a girl who is all hot and bothered after this concert, then u are doing something very wrong. Frame of mind is everything.
The music is good too, don't get me wrong.

If there's an 8/22 show I will probably go. I'll probably go with the cheaper seats as it's not an Aventura-only show. If I find out anything, I'll post it here.

Just wanted to post a final on this thread. Looks like the 8/22 date is out. It's off the Aventura website and tix never went on sale on TM.

I can't make the show on 8/21 - ironically because of another concert. And actually, I would like to see a show with Aventura only. So I won't be going.

But if anyone is interested in going, the info is here in this thread and the TM website link is http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/1229740

If anyone does attend, I'd be interested in hearing a report.

Thnx !!

If there's a 10/5 show, I'll try to go. It's posted for the "Izod Center" in East Rutherford, formerly known as the "Continental Arena" which we in NJ used to call the "Meadowlands" and the "Brendan Byrne Arena".

A Report on the 10/5 show. Izod Center, East Rutherford, NJ (Meadowlands)

I've been an Aventura fan for a while, but was unable to make any of the recent DR shows. So this was my first. Driving up the NJ turnpike I figured that Aventura would be the opening act (followed by Enrique Iglesias) and I would be home by 10:00. This was not to be the case !! I was a bit bummed to be just back from Sosua the day before - and I made a few phone calls.

A DJ (DJ Prime) started the evening off at around 8:00. Most of the crowd seemed to consider it backround music and kept doing their thing. A Shakira tune mix got a positive response. Definitely a better choice for the Latino crowd than the Hendrix and Bowie which was played over the house system earlier.

Somewhere near 9:00 Enrique Iglesias took the stage. This surprised me - as I figured he was the headliner and the concert was billed as an Iglesias show. While I'm not all that familiar with his music, I recognized some of the tunes from the radio. He did an impressive show - complete with ticker-tape celebration and triple-encore. Most shows would have been over right at that point - and it was already about 10:30.

The usual set-change. Finally Aventura took the stage at after 11:00 - beginning with fireworks and their "Los Infieles" tune. As expected, the crowd went crazy - Louder than for Iglesias. They spun through a lot of their popular hits - similar to the KOB DVD. A spirited Romeo had the chicas mesmorized, as one would expect. Chicas were escorted up on-stage, as is usually part of their shows. Impressive showmanship and musicianship - as the fans have come to expect from Aventura. After an array of tunes, they brought things to an end with their trademark "Mi Corazoncito" tune - complete with a flaming heart lowered from the ceiling. The crowd went crazy. Of course, it turned out to be a late night - but well-worth the effort.

Chicas - OK someone is going to ask. And this is a chica site, right ?? My first comment is that I didn't see too many young chicas. This was probably because of ticket prices. I believe that even the "cheap" seats started at over $60. A hot latina sat down next to me - complete with bambino and novio. She made eye-contact once with me and immediately looked away - and never glanced at me for the remainder of the evening - even kind of positioning herself to face away from me while sitting. Her camera was 4 times as nice as mine. On my right, 3 pleasant-looking chicas sat down. I took their picture for them and made a little small talk. But as soon as my questions stopped, they looked away. No interest there. This is not to say that there wasn't a bevy of hot Latina beauties there - there certainly was. Lots of eye-candy. Conclusion: This is not La Passion !! What else can I say !!!

There seemed to be no problemas with bringing in cameras, so a few pics are attached below.
