Hola gentlemen, have been researching ISOC and already answered most of my questions like where to stay, where to change $, what to pay, etc. Myself and another first timer to DR are planning 4 nights in Sosua but I was wondering if spending some time in Puerto Plata would be worthwhile or not?

There are a few hotels in Puerto Plata covered by this board. Its been a while since I read about them, but a few nights in POP wouldn't be a bad idea.

Which can suck up time depending on how long one's vacation is and how much time they want to spend if that is in the program. It might be best that since he is going with a nubie that they focus on the area with the largest CONCENTRATION AND VARIETY of hoes.

For one, they won't be asking 2,000 pesos for TLN and they will be much more enjoyable to be with. You shouldn't be telling people things that are not true at all. There are dozens on ISOC that have met great chicas while in the POP area.

Hi Pacoloco
If it is your first visit to the DR and you only have 4 days, I would recommend you spend them all in Sosúa. And I say that as a well-known shill for Puerto Plata on this board. Everything in Sosúa is concentrated in a small area. Apart from the "old" casino, all is within walking distance and there is lots of help and advice on hand from ISOC members and people like Marco (at Rocky's), Lou (at the Shark Bar) and Herman (at Siempre Sol).
Later this year I expect to have emigrated to the DR and be living in Puerto Plata. I wouldn't want to live in Sosúa but for a short first trip it cannot be beat.
The one exception I would make is perhaps for older guys travelling alone. Some of us prefer the quieter (but never too quiet!) lifestyle at Dominican Billy's place in Puerto Plata (Harbor View) but if you come with friends and want to party then Sosúa every time for a first trip.

Can you say this for a bonafide fact. No.

Yes I can, I have to to Puerto Plata many, many times. I have spent over 500 days in that country. Stick to what you know, licking ass.

You arent there now and you cant with any degree of certainty know what any guy will pay a hoe in any given situation or define what there vacation might entail. I am not going to argue with you because it is a waste of time and I am not insulting you right now. The guy asked for advice and I gave it to him. That is all.

Hit POP for a night, go to Cristals ( hottest bitches in that area IMHO) and El Bohem, fuck trolling around the streets. But spend most of your time in Sosua. Only thing is you have to find daytime activities. Day time in Sosua can be very wack, only local hoes in the daytime, At night the chicas come from all over, especially the weekend.

Thanks for the replies and a good laugh- you guys crack me up. We'll probably just stay in Sosua since it looks like there's plenty there to keep us entertained, just wondered if there was something worth a day trip or an overnight in POP. If we get bored we'll check it out as eastcoastallstar suggested. Will be there Jul. 4 weekend if any of you guys are around and want to meet for a drink, probably be searching for tight panocha at LaPassion y la playa daily and Classico nightly.
PS
I'm a CR vet, visit SJO 3-4 times/year so if you guys need any info on that scene feel free to hit me up. Have always had fun with the Dominicanas in CR (in fact can't recall ever having a bad time with one) so looking forward to visiting the source.

I would not stay in POP overnight unless you have some hoes lined up. Staying in Sosua is your best bet and check out PP or Cabarete during the day. Have fun.

I would say it's the other way around. Best to stay in Sosua and check it out during the day since it's near the beach and everything is within walking distance. At night you should check out POP and Caberate. It's very lively in any of the areas but Sosua has too much Haitain women for my taste. JMHO.
Yes it is cheaper in Sosua (2000 peso vs 3000 peso for TLN), but you get what you pay for! Sosua is mostly Haitian. Everywhere else there is a wider variety.

Err, what? How did you come to this conclusion?

Exactly what I was thinking. He must of been there a cpl nights and was weak enough to let the Haitians run game on him.

I don't know if this comment is entirely 100% true BUT I have noticed there are more and more Haitians showing up in Sosua compared to roughly 3 years ago. At least that's what I think and my regular wingman has agreed with me.
Don't get me wrong, you will find plenty of Dominicanas in Sosua. It just seems there are ALOT more Haitians around than before. And a handful of times now, while I was walking out of Classico's with my arm around a Haitiana, I'll pass by a Dominicana and she will say flat out to me, "Why are you with HER?"

I hope you pointed between your girls legs and licked your fingers like the guy in the KFC commercial.
