Reports from various places
Just made my way around town. Trees and debris all over town. Several trees uprooted and blocking certain streets or portion of, including Pedro Glisante the main street. No pedestrian and very few vehicles. The only business open was the grocery store next to Rocky's. Surprisingly, only a few "cana" roofs suffered major dammage. Some cleanup work has begun but i didn't see any Edenorte or Ayuntamiento teams at work. (What's new). I spoke to a few business owners and most expect to be shut down for at least 24 hrs. Didn't actually go into Casa Marina Reef or Beach but it seems like business as usual. Extent of dammage goes from nothing to missing roofs. I guess it depends on the location. Still rainning a bit, most people expect more winds and rain.
The winds have appeared to be getting weaker. Looks like the worst is over. Several trees down, streets full of branches and garbage. A couple of big trees in the back yard at Eddy's and the real bad news: my 26' dish is down. The smaller ones 16' and others survived.
....It's 10:08 here in POP and it's just as bad as it's been all since he middle of the night. IT IS CERTAINLY NOT LETTING UP HERE.
Pedro Clisante in Sosua
The whole street is closed off, what with it being littered with broken branches and fallen signs. The power lines are down as well.
Traffic light suspended over intersection by Playero and Bommarito buildings is gone.
