I found another hotel option in Sosua. The owner is a young guy and really put a lot of work into renovation. It's 100% chica friendly and around the corner from Helados Bon, 2 minute walk to the New Garden.

If someone does stay there and likes both the place and the owner, it would be nice to help him clean up the English on his web site. A half hour out of your time would let him present much better.

Ok, I need translation for this as found on website--"Single room with cameras that ". :confused4: :confused4:
Could it be single room with TV, a plasma TV in all rooms?
I do love the location and the place looks modern. We need more pictures from inside. One other thing, I would rather pay in cash than putting it on cc.

Just this morning I checked into Hotel Seabreeze.

They are still in start'up mode but that place has great potential. All newly renovated clean rooms with wall mounted plasma TVs. The bright, well-lit rooms have either one ($40 per night) or two queen beds ($50 per night).

Room safes and refrigerators are still awaiting custom-clerarance and installation. Internet wi-fi should be up and running in two days. On-site pool (working), restaurant (coming soon), and work-out room (coming soon).

Chica-friendly with sedula, 24 h-security, great location.

I am one of the first customers, if not the first. The place is certainly operational if anyone needs a room TODAY.

Sounds great except for the lack of room safes (muy importante) and refrigerators. You didn't mention room size.

I checked the place out myself this over the weekend
Room safes are expected in october.
TV, is mounted to wall and brand new AC
He plans to put in a Gym and a money exchange 1 stop shoping
Bought some MamaJuana while I was there.

It is Chica Friendly, he was telling me how he stop a guest from coming in with an under age chica with her sisters ID.
Looks like the cops showed up 5 min after she did.

OK..Uncle226, Mr Pink, NJ_Hobby and myself all went over to check out the place. I brought along the camera this time and got some nice shots. He is charging $ 40 a night for the single rooms, and $ 55 a night for the doubles. One of the things I like about the owner is that he was a male travelor also, so he knows what we like in a place we stay. Plus, for all you are getting, you can't beat the $ 40 a night.

The place has a nice poll....

The guys went and spent the money on the biggest generator in Sosua or the North Coast for that matter!! It is in it's own sound proofed building. He even thought of the ground vibrations coming from it and put a extra slab of concrete in the room to stop that. The generator can run for 2 1/2 days straight if need be!!!

There is also a room where there will be a 24 hour bar. That area will have a tv and pool table. The office will have all of the up to date ammenities.

Me too! The New Garden was great! The things that I felt could be fixed I shared with them and I am certian they will fix them.

However, this place had everything except for the jacuzzi rooms to offer as New Garden does at a fraction of the cost.

I will try them out on one of my next few trips for sure to campare the differences myself.

3somefan et al: Excellent report and pictures. This is the kind of information that enables us to make informed decisions. Armed with this we, the consumer, can influence other hotels/accommodations to upgrade and compete for our dollars. A competitive marketplace can only mean dividends for us. Nice work!! Very Cheeno-esque!!

The place certainly looks like it has potential. I know some people on other sites have been saying the street noise could be a major issue. They ripped it pretty good. Any one experience problems with the noise? Personally, I don't see how it could be worse than the NG during the construction, bird, dog, etc.

Thanks for your email. Sure we would be happy to give you a good rate since you will be staying 2 weeks. The rate I can offer you is the following: single bed for 35 dollars a night, and a double bed for 45 dollars a night, plus tax.

You will like our hotel, we have cable tv with over 100 channels, free WIFI internet, and airconditioning in the room (with your own thermastat)

The hotel rooms are brand new, so you should be comfortable.

He sure deserves to get some business from us. He has stuck some MAJOR bucks into the place.

Anyone wanna guess how much the genset cost? And, it wasn't mentioned, but the genset room is double walled, I can tell by looking at it. Not to mention the Autotransfer. Look at the size of that puppy!!!

My experiences here have shown me that when a guy puts that kind of attention into detail, he's serious about taking care of his clients.

We'll certainly give it a shot when we go up next time.

I stayed at SeaBreeze for a week recently in a unit that was very close to the street: yellow building, ground floor. Absolutely no worries about street noise day or night. Plus, you could always ask for a room in one of the units further back from the street.

No refrigerators or safes as of two weeks ago which might or might not have changed by now.

One more observation about an operational issue at SeaBreeze.

The room key comes w/ a big Lexan-type plastic tag which has the SeaBreeze logo and the room number (!) engraved. I immediately disliked that because if one gets involuntarily separated from the key and does not notice right away, the new key holder knows exactly which room to target at what property.

Unfortunately just taking the key of the plastic tag does not work either, because, according to the owner, the plastic tag serves as the hotel pass to the night crew (security guard).

You guys sure are impatient.

The owner of this place is working his ass off trying to get evrything done and all you guys can do is inundate him with petty questions.

The safes are in every room. They are the key type. There is a second key for each box held by the owner in combination safe in his apartment. BTW all combination safes have a master code which means ultimatly some one else has access to your safe.

Security is tight here. I invited another ISOC memeber here for a tour yesterday in the middle of the afternoon and they would not let him in until I went to the gate. Same for mi novia, even though she is registered as a guest, the security guy would not let her in without a cedula.

The bar will be open soon, he is waiting for the elctrician. BTW all the rooms are re-wired complete with proper grounds. Try finding that anywhere else in this town.

Street noise is not bad here, in Sosua there is street noise whereever you go.

Sea Breeze is located just around the corner towards Casa marina, form New Garden. Next door to the Jewish Museum.Across the street from Wilsons Phone Centre.

Any more questions? I will be here for another 8 days.

Options...all about options!!!

word gets out amidst the other biz owners, that theres a new kid on the block and he put serious bank on his hotel, helps keep other owners on top of there game!!! which then is good for us...i.e. Pedro Mcmurphys, Cuba Libre bar, etc...gives nice alternatives than just constantly going to the shark bar.

ISOC is already all over the owner of the sea breeze, im sure the word has already spread within the "chicanet" that theres a new gringo haven on the rise. so they'll be flocking there soon enough!!! if more Sosua Hotel owners invest the time and money to build quality hotels and not just fuck rooms, i think that is a good thing. i am VERY picky about my accomadations while abroad and i am willing to spend top dollar. cant wait for them to build a Marriot in Sosua, LOL

as someone once said...

"predators hunt where prey abounds"

Like Uncle said...Competition!!

Plus $40 a night is hard to beat when they have as much as the New Garden (except for the couple jacuzzi rooms) and some extra New Garden doesn't have..(flat panel t.v.s, main bar open 24 hours, pool table and excercise equipment).

I had a good time at the New Garden and they did a great job with the bikini contest too.

what about the bar?

:p

As I posted 3 hours ago, the bar will be ready soon. As you know in this country when you are waiting for an electrician, timing is very hard to predict. For that matter I recall often waiting for electricians when I had my businesses in Canada!

As far as the fridges go I do not believe he ever promised fridges in the rooms. For $ 40 per night there is a limit to what he can include. AC is very expensive to operate with the electricity prices in the DR. I will confirm this next time I see him.

Any more questions?

i was joking around dude...but

thx for the update.

fridges should be standard in all DR 2 star or better hotels, its hot there!!! especially summer time, always should be able to throw some water/drinks in a hotel fridge.

Again thanks for the intel!

I talked to the owner 3 weeks ago and he said then that he already had the fridges, but what just waiting to be able to unload them from the container that was still down in the port.

Guys, I took a lot of pictures, in them the ACs were pictured. Yes there is AC to each room. Then if they lose power, the huge generator is there to keep the AC pumping!!

Got the low down on the fridges. The jefe says he does not have and will not have fridges in the rooms. Ice will be available in the bar when it opens. He says he wants to keep his prices down and to include fridges so we can keep a couple of beers cold is not possible. Yesterday he had to run his planta for 10 hours, checked the price of diesel lately?

This guy brought 6 containers from Florida to this hotel and two of them are tied up in POP port, they are so slow that he says it can take up to 30 days before they are put on a truck anf in the meantime he has no access to them. He has another 15 beds waiting as well as more bedside tables, lamps, 500 more towels and all his bar equipment.

The daytime security guy also runs the small casa de cambio located by the fron gate. very busy place as it is the first one that the Casa Marina people come to.

On the negative side the wifi is hit and miss but he has a guy coming to put in better unit. We will wait and see.

Any more questions. (no, I do not work for the guy just enjoying the best valued hotel I have found in Sosua in the 5 years of coming here, and I spend 4 months here every year)

OK guys, just checked my email and I got a reply to the one I sent the Sea Breeze Hotel. This along with the great information that Snoozer provided should answer most of your questions.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your inquiry. I did hear about the bikini contest at the New Garden Hotel and I congratulate you on the success. At this point I prefer not to do any type of promotions only would like to keep it as word of mouth or through DR1 and tripadvisor. Since I have opened I have remained at 80% full capacity and my reservations are coming in through September. I will keep all of your information and if I decide to do a promotion I will contact you to see what's available. In regards to the questions you had, all rooms come equipped with new Air conditioners, Flat screen TVs with 100 channels, and Safety Deposit boxes. I will not be supplying the rooms with refrigerators due to the fact that we will be opening a game room with a bar for all SeaBreeze guests in the next two weeks. The prices for the guests will be reasonable and we will assist with any further requests. There will be no weightlifting equipment on premises and there will be no deposits required. All I request is a copy of Identification upon check-in and any female guests coming into SeaBreeze will need to present their Identification also for security purpose. Finally, as far as the noise there is no noise coming from the street and our 24 hour generator is insulated in a seperate concrete room. Rest assure that you and your guests will be able to relax at SeaBreeze Hotel. Thank you very much for your inquiry and if there is anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

SeaBreeze Hotel Management

Not bad at all really in Sosua.

Not having fridge is kind of a negative for the many guys that like to keep cold beverages in their rooms, but with the 24 hour bar, you will only have to walk like 50 feet to get those there.

For $ 40 a night with all of those amenities..you really can't go wrong! Maybe that will make the prices more competative around that area? The New Garden is still very reasonable too though.

New garden was in business for 14 years and was never at 80%. He raised his prices from $40 to $50 last year. There are not many around for 3 years let alone 14 years. That new hotel may find that $40 won't be enough to maintain a hotel, only time will tell.

A refigerator is not a requirement for many guys, so that won't matter. Time will tell.

5 years ago, DR was the only place I would have gone. Now every trip to colombia brings another new guy.

The NG has 40 rooms, plus with the Villas available, there are many options. Can a hotel survive when they only get the overflows from other places?

SeaBreeze has rooms with one or two queen-sized beds. The former cost $40/night whereas the later were quoted at $50/night.

I stayed for 7 nights in a $50/night room (two beds) and paid a total of $350. This would argue against a 24% tax being added to the room bill.

This seems to be the common issue! It took over a week for them to respond to mine, and I know of another person who went through the same thing.

Hey guys I just went and checked the place out, the muy bonita receptionist gave me a tour and said the rooms were 40.00 plus tax = 46.00 I saw a room on the 1st floor, spacious with 2 queen beds, flat screen TV, AC, lockbox and the bathroom was spacious and clean. there's also a balcony/patio area off the poolside of the room. The pool is nice but maybe a little smaller than NG. I like to stay in decent rooms and am willing to pay more for location and decent place and I see absolutely nothing that would prevent me from staying there. I forgot to ask about breaakfast so that may be something to consider.

Also, just hearsay but for what it's worth a nearby bar owner said the SB owner was overwhelmed with emails asking details thinking there is something wrong with the place because it's priced lower and is considering just raising the rates so people wouldn't think that way. Also that he is hoping once he gets some clientel built up chicas will stop by and hang out. Why ruin a good thing before it gets started? Somebody should just stay there and post a review already but what do I know.

It seems to me that roughly every 2 years a new "favorite" spot opens up and a transition is made. First it was BB's, then Europa, then it was FoD followed very closely by New Garden. I was sort of wondering what the next "in" spot was going to be. If Sea Breeze's owner/management play their cards right, it could become it.

Not trying to thread jack but since we are talking about other options for hotels in the Sosua area, there's a place right off the main highway. If you're coming from the Airport, make a left after the Texaco station onto DR Rosen and in the middle of the block on the right-hand side, it's called Hotel Don Antonio. Manager is a fellow by the name of Obi, he speaks fluent English since he's from NJ. Going rate is $35/night and once he gets to know you well, you can talk him into $30/night.

Now, the place is a bit on the dumpy side with just a 1x double bed but it's got a/c, a nice pool (that is NEVER green with algae), bar with kitchen in close proximity to the pool and all units come with an efficiency/kitchen area. No breakfast included with your stay. He has internet access via a computer terminal in a room near the bar and he was supposed to have wireless setup by now but I never checked my last few trips down. The place mostly has long-term Germans/Europeans staying there and I've had alot of interesting talks with guys from Europe. Germans are a riot!

Anyway, before I settled into a place down in the DR... FoD and Hotel Don Antonio were where I mostly stayed at.

There's no factual basis for your comments, at least none posted.

Why not just have someone go talk to the guy and set the record straight, instead of slamming the guy and reacting to likely inaccurate info?

I just left Sea Breeze after 10 days and it was the most enjoyable stay I have had in any hotel in Sosua. The first part of the the post by Pacoloco is a good summary of what to expect when you stay there. Breakfast is not included and the owner says he has no intention of adding a restaurant at this time. As he points out there are many good choices in town Brittania, Baileys, Pedro's etc for breakfast, all for a reasonable price and within 5 minute walk. Not sure about the tax thing on the room rate, I was just looking for the my bill to confirm this, I thought it was included. I will find out.

The second half of your post is total bullshit. I spent time every day talikng to the owner (he is a very friendly guy), he even showed me some of the ridiculous emails he gets each day. One wanted him to post copies of various menus around town and give opinions on which was best value for breakfast. He is quite happy with the way his hotel is going, he is well located for overflow from Casa Marina ( was full twice last week due to CM overbooking). There was never any mention of the gossip reported above. He is in it for the long haul, he also operates a hotel in Florida.

He recognises that NG fills a certain niche in the Sosua market and are doing a good job of it. While he has no problem with bringing chicas back to Sea Breeze, he just asks his guests be discrete, no late night pool partys etc. , there are many hotels in the area with a similar approach, and they do well. Not all guys want the NG atmosphere when they go to Sosua for chicas.

I took several friends there to show them around and all were impressed. I even took two chicas I know who have WU boyfriends, they were looking for a place where they good spend a quiet holiday with their novios at a reasonable price.

I will be booking there for my September, Decemebr and January trips.

I understand what you're saying snoozer but some of those emails were reservation requests!!!!!!! (not "ridiculous emails")

I sent a email asking specific questions about the progress on some of the things he told me he would have (in person by the way). I also added a couple of questions from guys on the board. Then to help him promote his place a little more, I offered to have a bikini contest there.

It took him over a week to get back to me. When he did, he did answer most if not all of the questions. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because several members chimed in about how busy he was.

The only real negatives so far for me, is that is took that long to get back to me. Also some of the things he told me in person that he was going to do with the place, he is now not doing.

I may still stay there...who knows?

I talked to the owner last week and he has no intentions of having any refrigerators. The sense I got was that he felt that having refrigerators would hurt his bar business. Secondly, he said that bringing chicas in would be no problem, but that he wouldn't allow chicas to come in unaccompanied like the New Garden.

Seemed like a nice guy with definite ideas on how he planned on running his place. The only quibble I would have with the place is the lack of refrigerators, but that's just me.

The key is to put "reservation request" in the subject heading of your email so it won't be confused with the other "ridiculous" emails that he might not even open.........

I can fully understand the no wandering about unaccompanied for security reasons. As far as the frig goes I wouldn't consider it a problem either if the beer and water are only slightly marked up compared to buying it yourself in the store and are available a good portion of the day and night. A lot of people are going to want something to drink late at night and early in the morning.

The fridge could end up being a problem for sure. Hopefully he will realize that and either provide them in the rooms or just make a larger supply available for his guests at a reasonable price during the entire day/night.

Another thing you could do is get a cheap ass cooler just down the street and fill it with some ice for you beverages. When you are out daily, just stop by the store and get a bag of ice. The AC in the rooms should help the ice.

What am I supposed to drink after a round of sex at 3 or 4am???? Or even in the middle of the day. I would hate to have to get dressed to go get something cold to drink. This spot will not be on my radar until they put some sort of small fridge in their rooms.

Checked out the place 2 weeks ago. Owner said that 85% of the rooms now have refrigerators and the rest are going to have them soon (should be there by now).

He told me that if you pay in cash the rate is $40/night without taxes.

He is getting some new equipment for the on-site workout room and game area.

Things look like they are on the up and up. My only complaint is that aside from the bed, there is no furniture in the rooms. No nightstand, dressers, etc.

Oh well- at least the chick who works in the reservations office is smokin'.

I also sent him an email 2 days ago and i did get a reply but, he basically ignored all my questions and i have to email him once again, I asked about 8 questions and he answered 1, the rate lol

Since he didnt reply to the question of them now having fridges in the room, can someone here confirm it? I beleive i read that it was going to happen, then not going to happen, then did happen. Im confused. Anyone with %100 info on this? thanks

I would suggest anyone to call rather than email when you need questions answered about a hotel in Sosua. To date i do all my reservations over the phone.

Those "biz owners" down there (with the exception of a few) are not exactly working on us "New Yorker Minute" time frames. so plan accordingly when dealing with there Lax business etiqette.

If you have 12 empty rooms last Wednesday, that rent is gone forever. If you have a store with inventory, tomorrow is another day. Answering e mails is easy enough. A difference of opinion I guess. I thought there were many hotels that were monger friendly and a fair number that cater more to families, plus Casa Marina and Sosua Bay for AI's. While you may find less other options than you'd like there are still more than a sufficient number of available accommodations available even at peak times if you plan ahead. I've never had an issue getting a hotel room, condo or villa in Sosua when I wanted so for me there is no shortage.

Not bad for a place as small as Sosua.

I don't give my money to businesses that have what I think are shoddy business practices. Most of the posts about this hotel seem to be saying that they don't like the way this place does business. If that's the case then why bother? There's no sense in trying to figure out what's going on in the owner's mind but if you don't like the way he's doing business then why even consider his hotel?

Call and ask for the boss. "quiero hablar con el jefe" (sounds like hefaa) at (809)571-4712!! The boss speaks perfect english and he's there everyday. If the chica didn't put him on the phone it's because you didn't ask to speak with him. He'll answer all your questions on the phone.

It's still a nice place to book. I've stayed there twice and have no complaints. If the room isn't to your liking, just ask to switch rooms. None of these places are ever 100% booked so i'm sure you'll get a room to your liking!!

Eventually he'll get the email/answer questions/reservation thing straightened out, but right now it's just not a priority. He feels he's doing fine the way things are. It is what it is!!

Just spent 3 days there. Had nice room (202A) with 1 queen bed, frig and great a/c. The lockbox was small, the kind you can get for $30 at Target. Service was excellent. Had a chica for the first night and a novia arriving second day. Asked for a complete change of sheets to cover my tracks and they had no problem complying. Much as I like New Garden, this is an excellent option.

How much did u pay for your room and can u avoid the taxes if u pay in cash???

Most places ignore the tax, if u pay in cash and no paper trial is nom longer apparent of your stay there.

The Hotel is very clean, $40-$50 a night, good security, no silly bitches hanging around harrassing you and your chica, the cleanest linen i've seen (washed with bleach), pool, fridge, on premis parking, flat screen tv's, brand new beds, air con, centrally located, etc, etc, etc.

So late responses to my emails wont stop me from booking. I guess it is a difference of opinion.

ALso, there is always reliable staff, be it security, maintenance and an owner that lives on-site.

Check-outs and arrivals are accomodated at anytime, and the owner is a straight-shooter.

Compared to other options- the hotel is certainly unique in its location, relative quiet, upkeep, and the general 'vibe' that it puts out.

If only he'd answer those damn e-mails....

The Owner's name is G-had and he is there 75% of the time with the other 25% being in Miami, where his family lives.

Calling is best, as I recall only seeing a laptop computer in the office 1 of 4 times I visited.

Something is wrong with his email. I first tried to book a room via email and didn't get a response. I had a friend that was in Sosua at the time walk in a and make the reservation. He watched Jihad send me the email confirmation. I never received it.

If you guys are so happy with NG why are you considering moving to another hotel. ? It would seem to meet your needs completely. Prompt responses to emails, willing to host bikini parties and chicas on site.

My fellow ISOC member,

Please do not underestimate the value of competition. I will make my maiden visit to Sosua in three plus weeks. I was relatively sure that I was going to stay at the New Garden. After reading this post, I am not as sure as I once was. Competition provides options. Options allows us to make choices. A man with options is a dangerous man!

Another thing you could do is get a cheap ass cooler just down the street and fill it with some ice for you beverages. When you are out daily, just stop by the store and get a bag of ice. The AC in the rooms should help the ice.

My friend,

This is the epitome of improvising. I think I will take one for the team and stay here when I visit in a couple of weeks. Thanks man!

so, what was your overall experience at Sea Breezes?I liked it. The beds and beddings were new, so they were comfortable. The air-conditioners and TVs are new (Jihad says there are 2 pron channels, I couldn't get them) and work well.

The rooms are a little small, but they all the same size, so there are no surprises. The location is good. Jihad and the rest of the staff are friendly.

The price was right. I paid $40US, next time the rate goes to $46US.

Gihad stays on top of the e-mail, checks and re-checks all day long... that is until he goes to Flow and gets his Benedicta on. Damned guy drinks a chick drink and tries to pass it off as cool.. LOL.

He's still got the place full, looking good, and spends time looking out for his guests on Pedro Clisante.

I was searching for something else on the site and I happened upon this thread. I can't say enough good things about the Sea Breeze. I'm probably gonna sound like a shill for this place but I'm not. JDR has met me. I've stayed there four times this year and I'm not too easy to please.

The most important aspect is that Jihad runs the place as much as an American hotel as he can, under Dominican circumstances.

The bed sheets are changed everyday (yes-I checked this by marking my sheets), used soap is replaced everyday, his staff has a high level of integrity (I've heard stories that I'm not going to repeat), he has continuous power (he has his own generator that he runs - this last trip he came close to rationing the power only because the fuel supplier was going to ration fuel to him), the air conditioners are kick ass, he's got standard cable tv, the water pressure is great and there is a lot more hot water than many of the other hotels I've stayed at, his pool is always sparkling clean, he now has 24 hour soda, beer, water, etc., the grounds are landscaped and manicured, the staff strictly adheres to security protocol (no chica inside without a cedulla; and they can't leave the grounds unless you give the ok for them to leave).

And last but not least, he treats his guests like friends and with respect. For example, he's taken more than one person for medical attention when they needed it and he is always very helpful with the guests' needs.

I highly recommend this hotel.

At the time (this past November, around the 11th or so) there was a major power outage (I know, nothing new) that lasted a long time and covered a wide area. The explanation was that many people were using generators and thus the fuel became a commodity very much in demand (think back to 1970's fuel "shortage"). I trust Jihad and saw no reason for him to lie, especially when he is not cheap in spending money on the hotel and it's necessities. Jihad made sure the hotel's generators were running when other hotels weren't, all the while I heard him tell the maid to leave the ac on in a room where the guy likes it like that. I don't find it too outrageous that the fuel supplier was looking to get paid a little extra for his fuel because it was then in demand, especially from a guy like Jihad who always runs his generator when needed.

Suffice it to say, I don't think anybody has anything bad to say about the guy or his hotel. Ans that's why I'm going to stay there again when I return in a couple of weeks.

And to answer your question about the safes - he has the same safes now as were there when I stayed there in February and June.

For what it's worth, no supplier is trying to get paid "a little extra" for his fuel. Quite the contrary. Fuel suppliers frequently offer discounts on fuel to get people to buy from them.

I personally get Diesel fuel at 10 pesos less a gallon than what folks pay at the pump, and with 15 day terms.

It's been quite a while since the DR has experienced any fuel shortages.

If Jihad's supplier was telling him that, he was pulling his leg. He needs to find another supplier.(and negotiate a discount, if he doesn't have one already)

It was a simple matter of supply and demand of fuel and it appeared that Jihad almost fell victim to fuel price gouging, which does happen during times of high demand, in contrast to the situation you describe representing times of supply exceeding demand, and this is all really irrelevant to the review of the Sea Breeze Hotel.

The hotel is a well run, clean, secure affordable place to stay in Sosua. Nuff said. Thanks.

Since YOU brought it up, what Make and Model # Safe would that be ??

and this "fuel (ie diesel) rationing" story is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever heard. If there was rationing going on, I think we would have heard about it. Truckers & ships use a lot more diesel than all the generators in the Dr combined, running all at once.

You would think that with how they are pretty full all the time, that they'd be able to afford the upgrade! I mean even if they added an additional $ 5 a night to help make back the investment, I would have no issue with that for the added security.

For the value, customer service and security.. I still say the New Garden wins hands down! Sea Breeze would be much closer with a simple fix of the safes. IMHO.

You might want to check out the recent (this week) posts on the 2 new hotels opening both right on DR Rosen not off on a side street somewhere. Both the new hotels including the cheaper $40 or so one are willing to include electronic safes. That one it said was from the owners of Casa Valaria. The other one Terra Linda will also have the real safes in the next price point a few buck more.

Don't know about any discount but what's in order is a good talking-to his Security guy. Last time i stayed there, my last night, i kinda got myself in a mix with 2 different girls. I won't go into all the details but it was an ugly scene at Merengue bar and only got uglier later. I thought i'd handled it by telling them both i was going home alone with the intention of having one meet me at my crib. On my way back to the hotel i called that one and told her to come over only when i got there the other slick-ass bitch had beaten me to my room by jumping on a moto and was standing outside my door when i got there. Now i had her outside my room and the one i called on my way home waiting to come upstairs. I'll save the ending as the purpose of the post is the chick shoulda never been allowed to enter and come upstairs when i wasn't there. No chico no chica should be the rule no matter how many times the security might have seen her there before.

I know you are looking at the Seabreeze, but I might suggest El Rancho. It received some bad reviews when it first open. but I stayed there last week and it was nice.

Standard size rooms, safes, big showers to do freaky things, quiet and has Wifi in the pool area.

???????
The dimensions of the Ark of the Covenant were 1 1/2 cubits in width and height and 2 1/2 cubits in length.

And the Mongering Gods said go forth and build a Hotel.

I never thought I would live long enough to see the day that Sir Weyland got Schooled on ANY BOOK, let alone the Bible.
But I think it just happened...
LOL... Nicely done DMV ...

You are totally correct. I assumed that by the time they got to this Ark they had gone metric.

You have totally kicked my ass on this one and I humbly apologize. At least I took down Apos with me.

That is the third time in two days I have messed up. I will have to start checking my sources more carefully before I make smart-ass posts.

Totally humiliated. One book I never read. Never spent enough time in lonely hotel rooms, I guess.

I know you are looking at the Seabreeze, but I might suggest El Rancho. It received some bad reviews when it first open. but I stayed there last week and it was nice.

Standard size rooms, safes, big showers to do freaky things, quiet and has Wifi in the pool area.

Also they were great in replying to my emails.

do they have a website that i can check out?

Oh my! You guys are just too precious. I had that Bill Cosby record as a kid. When jonew asked about the size of the rooms, I just had to go with "cubit" as a measuring standard seeing as I can be a sarcastic son of a bitch with my sense of humor and he wouldn't have a clue what the hell I was talking about. It comes from the Cosby routine!

Had no idea this would take on a life of it's own.

Classic Cosby. Noah....Riiiiiight! What's a cubit?
