[DR1] DR requests European aid

The Dominican Republic's chief trade negotiator has asked the European Union for funds aimed at helping local industries replace their old infrastructure and be better able to compete in the framework of the new international relations. Julio Ortega Tous made the petition during the 16th Development Trade and Economy Meeting of CARICOM in Barbados. The DR took part in the event together with 15 other Caribbean nations, according to a report by El Caribe.
